buggy
I had to disable my kepad to avoid false alarms. Not acceptable to not have a fix for this known problem available.

Died waiting!
Shipped without smoke detector. Had no use for camera. System did nothing. Mom sent to hospital before smoke detector could be installed. Don't need this and need to return it.

Non-existent customer service, cheap product
Bought Simplisafe system and used it for 5 months. It seemed to work OK until the base station got knocked over. Didn't fall off anything, just fell over. It no longer functions at all. Tried to buy a new one but there is no way to do that on their website (or find any help at all) and if you call them it is a 20-30 minute hold time to speak to someone. This company doesn't bother with supporting its products.

Never want anything to do with…
Never want anything to do with SimpliSafe ever again. They mislead you and get you on their "specials". and crap is no good unless you sign up for additional protection by your local cops.

Recently we had a false alarm and no call was made from the SIMPLISAFE monitoring center.
Recently we had a false alarm. No call was made to our to phone numbers from your monitoring center and as a result the local police department was dispatched. There is no record of a call from Simplisafe on either of our numbers.

The worst system ever!
The worst system ever! Under the timeline the sensors are constantly reporting the device is not responding, or wi-fi disconnected. But there is no reason for it to say wi-fi disconnected when the wi-fi works on all our devices. The camera outside picks up every car that rides by, but never picks up anyone walking on the porch, parking in the driveway, etc. I have a neighbor that bought a camera from another company, and she does not pay anything when her camera detects any movement and records the movement Simplisafe charges for that. I discontinued monitoring, and now my camera is only good for live viewing, and it does not turn on when there is movement and records it. So much more I could say. Not worth buying the system, and then paying $25 a month to monitor.

TERRIBLE VALUE - ADT COSTS 50% LESS
Because Simplisafe leaves all installation of their system up to the homeowner, or their very useless HelloTech partners, the system may of may not work. I had to have Hellotech out three times, and that's after wasting hours on the phone explaining the problems, and my system is offline now due to installation problems.....so I have NO security!!! I had 5 exterior doors to monitor and installation was more complex than what is advertised on TV; so complex that Hellotech struggled in install the system. Save your money and purchase an actual security system that's installed by the company that makes it, not a third party.

THIS SYSTEM SUCKS!!!
This is the cheapest, most useless security system made. TERRIBLE!!! I will need to uninstall it and return it because sensors keep falling off due to the cheap, cheap manner in which they're attached: sticky tape that fails within a few months. Additionally, the lack of correct information regarding the doorbell has cost me hundreds of dollars in electrician fees and rendered an expensive doorbell ($150) inoperable all because Simplisafe never mentioned the technical criteria for installing the doorbell. THIS SYSTEM SUCKS!!!!

When we first got our system
When we first got our system, we called into customer service and received great support. Recently I tried to call in 4 different times with questions about the video doorbell, and was on hold so long I just hung up each time. In 4 calls, my total wait time was 2 hours, what a disappointment. Hopefully SimpliSafe will make some big improvements. Had we known that this is the level of service they offer, we would've went with another company.

The products seem well made with good…
The products seem well made with good quality, but the email support is horrible. It usually takes three days before someone answers my inquiry, and the answer quality is poor because the correspondents either copied and pasted the same generic reply, which didn't solve anything, or addressed wrong item (e.g., inquiry on the back order status of some sensor but got a reply talking about key fob). One correspondent even told me that he could not find the previous request I made nor the follow up reply on the corresponding request I received from the same online support team. Any request simply got kicked back and forth between different correspondents, and different correspondents gave different answers to the same request! Due to the inconsistency and substandard support quality, I am considering returning the products.

Cancelling this service
My alarm went off for the first time in the year that I have had the system. I was in Florida on vacation when it went off. Simplysafe called and said they called the police but they would not respond because I did not have a permit and that the police won't respond unless there are at least 2 alarms set off. Here is an email I received when I signed up for the service "SIMPLISAFE ACTION REQUIRED: In Colorado Springs, SimpliSafe will register your alarm system with the city. Once we have obtained your permit number we will update your account with that information as well as contact you regarding the $24 registration fee." It appears they did not register a permit for me and when I called the police they said they would respond to one alarm. Very frustrating that I paid for this system for the past year and when I needed it, it failed. I will be cancelling the service.

when I signed on
when I signed on, I was told, I can do home monitoring, however, they asked me to put my CC info in order to do home monitoring and my CC was charged. When I asked them to remove my CC from the file, I was not able to do self-monitoring anymore, called the support line, they could not fix it! I feel like being scammed by Simplisafe.

i have been waiting for months to get a…
i have been waiting for months to get a replacement door bell and 2 cameras that are not working. kept being told they've been mailed.. finally received an electronic part with no explanation what is is for and no note as to how this helps my situation. still have not received the replacement door bell and cameras as PROMISED months ago

Don't bother
We had a power outage for 2 days and after 6 hours my Simplisafe unit went dead when I called customer service the next day she told me to check the batteries in the unit, when I checked there were no batteries so this means when I left my house the alarm was not working at all it only works with WiFi so that means when you have no power you have no alarm I was told when I purchased this there is a battery backup well I was lied t9. Not happy!

About a month after getting my package
About a month after getting my package, the motion detector stopped working. Tried to reset the sensor and followed online instructions as well and even tried to reset using the key pad. Nothing worked. Contacted Simplisafe twice and was on hold for a total of almost half hour. Finally just went to the store and bought a new one. The new device works now but I should not have to replace this item so soon after purchase.

Terrible Customer Service - Don't Recommend
I've experienced very poor customer service from Simplisafe. In only the past two months, there were THREE instances where they could not address my questions while I had them on the phone and they scheduled a future time to call me back. All three times, I received absolutely no call back. There were also two points I discussed with the customer service rep where the rep gave me incorrect information. Based on my basic familiarity with the system, I told him that I didn't think the info he provided was correct, and I asked him to confirm with his supervisor so I know the correct way to proceed. He confirmed with his supervisor and acknowledged that the info he provided to me was incorrect. With something as important as home security, SimpliSafe should make sure that their customer service reps are trained properly. This shows a huge decline in customer service compared to when I purchased the system about 3 years ago. With their consistently poor service, I will advise my friends to stay away from SimpliSafe, and I am considering switching to a different provider.

Love the reviews of the SimpliSafe but hate the customer service.
Love the reviews of the SimpliSafe system itself, but have had nothing but trouble trying to get their installation technician to my home. Over five days and numerous attempts to confirm an appointment, after this last rescheduling by the installer's company, I gave up. My next call is to SS to return the system. I have other choices, ones that I can depend on..... P.S.: As mentioned above, I have tried to return my Simply Safe system, new and still in the box to Simply Safe. Their answer was no, you can't return it and no you can't get a refund, because their time limit (60 days) had passed. Pointing out that the time delay was caused by their subcontractor failing to meet the multiple appointments we had made, not to mention that it is nearly impossible to speak to a human being at Simply Safe either by phone, email, messaging, or their website, which caused great frustration and delay, made no difference. Their "resolutions manager" finally suggested that I try to sell the system to a third party like eBay (which would have voided the warranty), and take the financial loss. By the way, I was firmly advised that there is no one in the company who has the authority to violate their policy of no returns, not even the management. My experience with Simply Safe was frustrating, unfulfilling, and infuriating. Later, to my own fault, I checked the reviews on the company and found that their customer service is the lowest rated of all of the home security industry. Had I checked earlier, I would never have done business with them. Beware...
