Trouble getting Help
I was frustrated when I was not able to get someone to help me set it up - So I left it in the box for years. I recently hired a handyman to help me set it up and he did - NO help from SimpliSafe. Now I'm not really sure how to set it.
BUMMER!
I've never been more dissappointed in…
I've never been more dissappointed in customer service. After (4) calls for help to install unit, I was repeatedly told I needed a safe word, but never any efort to help me find it. So I packed it up and sent it back. I now have a unit that service assistance was outstanding. And it is not Simpli-Safe.
Whole process was awful
Whole process was awful. Doesn’t work with AT&T which they don’t tell you. Went off while we were on vacation and out of the state. The girl couldn’t tell me which sensors went off. Couldn’t tell me if a door or window was opened. Was on the phone with her for at least 15 minutes trying to identify the emergency. Had to ask her to send the police. She called me back probably a half an hour later to say I had no police response because something wasn’t set up properly. And I couldn’t look at the camera despite buying a WiFi extender for my tiny house because it still didn’t work with my network. I had to send a relative to my home to confirm it was a false alarm. Don’t waste your time or money.
I wish I was informed
I wish I was informed about how much internet speed was needed to be able to use this system.... I was sent an internet boaster however setting in up was a challenge... than I could no longer connect my cameras ...after many attempts with customer service and being hung up on a few times I just gave up!! I even sent an email no response... If I could I would send it all back for a refund
It has been very bad experience
It has been very bad experience. If you check the information on my account, you will see I have called in at least once a week, sometimes twice. I always have sensors that are not working. I have complained to supervisors. Nothing has happened. I tried to get someone to come out to the house. They would not come. You would think, if a customer was having a problem like this it would be beneficial to the company? If any one asked me about the company, I tell what I think. I’em still having problems. All I wanted is that the product would work, but they are not welling to stand behind their product. R.E.M.

Carefully consider before buying
I was so excited when I ordered SimpliSafe for my new residence I couldn't wait to install it. It was simple...just as advertised.
But I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in this system. What is not readily apparent when you purchase the components is that if you don't purchase either of the top two tiers of monitoring service from SimpliSafe then you lose functionality of the camera and the app on your phone. I assume that the other components still work but I can't say for sure. So I've invested a considerable amount of money for a system that won't work unless I purchase the more expensive monitoring service plans they offer.
I would definitely purchase a different system if I had to make the decision over again.
Not worth it without control app
It is an excellent, easy to instal, and easy to use system. I started with monitoring but later decided I didn't need it. The great app that you get wit monitoring to allow you to monitor and control settings from your iPhone continued to work. I year later, when I moved and installed SimpliSafe in a new house, I discovered that SimpliSafe won't make the app available unless you buy professional monitoring. I know it works per my previous experience, so SimpliSafe is just choosing to not make it available unless you buy the expensive monitoring. The system is not usable if I have to do everything from the keypad. While I rated it 5 stars at my previous house based on control via app, it is now 1 star since SimpliSafe disables the app control. Don't buy SimpliSafe unless you need the premium monitoring. It is not worth it without the control app.
Range simply not good enough
Range simply not good enough. Why on earth do you not sell an extender? I often get alerts for sensors not responding and it’s because there’s no way of extending the range.
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. They give you the run around and the service does not work for every home, but they will not refund you even if their service is literally not compatible with your home. We even called the third party service THEY recommended to have assistance hooking the service up. The agent could not figure it out and cut wires in our home that we get to now deal with:( Their agents hang up on calls all the time and take 2+ weeks to respond to emails. We got robbed from the service that is suppose to protect you from robbers.
Can't connect Simplisafe cameras to wi fi no matter what
i purchased the Simplisafe front doorbell camera -- not cheap -- and had a costly electrician put it in to ensure a flawless install.
The doorbell does ring, but that's it.
The electrician tried hundreds of times to connect it to our wi fi.
I'VE tried hundreds of times to connect it to our wi fi.
Simplisafe support sent me an email telling me to remove the front door camera and try it all again. I did. Same results.
I've tried hundreds of times to connect the 'backyard camera' to our wi fi.
These two Simplisafe products are the ONLY devices I'm unable to marry to our wi fi.
Setting the nightly alarm for the house, the one that detects intruders, seems to work all right.
I gave up and bought a $20 mini camera to monitor the front door. Now THAT successfully connected to our wi fi.
Very disappointed
Hugely disappointed in this product. Camera replace once and still doesn’t work most of the time. Keypad falls off wall. I cancelled monitoring service I was so unhappy with this product. Wish I had never purchased it.
Great system but you can't get alert on your phone with out a fee.
Great system but you can't get alerts on your phone unless you pay a monthly fee! Makes it all most useless when not home. So they said they changed so you can get alerts on you phone with out paying. I could not make it work it always went to pay.
Thought I was getting more with this…
Thought I was getting more with this security system. Cameras are good quality, motion/entry sensors have not been great (not sticking). Also, thought I'd be able to access camera footage but cannot. Someone defecated on my steps and I could not find the culprit.

Claims to work up to 800 feet away from base station unit. Didn't even make it 300 feet. Unacceptable for my application. Hired a professional company instead.
Not impressed.
Small home. 30 x 40, single story.
Fiber 1gig connection for system wifi
Pros:
- peel and stick quick setup for basic entry sensors.
- simple set up
Cons:
- dead battery alerts afters a few months use
- very low range on sensors. I want the hub to be in an area that if an alarm is triggered I will hear it. Not in the center of the house behind closed doors and fans running. What's point if I'm sleeping and the hub can't wake me up. Needless to say the hub can't be more than 25 feet from an entry or motion sensor or it loses connection.
- The sticky material for quick placement is worse than if you just licked and stuck it, had to screw in the entire system eventually.
- The screws that came with the system must be made of paper because they strip faster than a girl at Sammies tryna feed 3 kids at the crib.
- The camera. Speakers never worked, quality was very low, and most of the time, the hub or camera wouldn't recognize each other and I had to reset it multiple times.
Overall, not impressed.

I am a disappointed long time customer
I am a long time customer, from their early beginning. I chose them, and continued with them, for their product line and system… and their very excellent customer service. We just sold our house, and I ordered a new system, rather than bring my 8 yr old one with me. When I ordered they assured delivery within two weeks, and I questioned that, because my closing and departure was three weeks away. I was assured ‘no problem!’ Three days after the order was made I received an email that the smoke detector was back ordered and would ship in two weeks. I immediately replied if that’s the case, cancel the entire order, as I will be driving to Arizona, from Florida, and won’t be at my new address for another month. Never heard back. Then 3 days before we moved, the box from SimplySafe arrived, and I had to pack it. A month later, at the new address, I received a letter from SS, forwarded from the old address, they need to call me and talk about the package. They’ve always had my address and phone number, right? So… There were more emails, one asked me to call them, and when I tried there was a 40 minute wait, I didn’t. It finally all ended when a senior customer service person called, and reviewed the very little info left by the previous people involved, and realized how badly SS had handled this, and she fixed most everything? But she didn’t succeed in removing the bad taste in my mouth and my loss of respect for SS. It seems that they have matured from a cool hard working customer centric company to a money grubbing Dollars First Customers Last company. Time will tell if that changes. Oh… the last CS person did manage to snag (one of those ‘back ordered’ smoke detectors an send it to me…. so maybe there’s hope!
The system goes off on its own
The system goes off on its own, usually due to a device failing for no apparent reason. We con't trust the system to be absent for any length of time.
A lot going for it but a lot more is needed!
A lot going for it but a lot more is needed
The setup process is a breeze, and the value for money is better than others, but there is so much that still needs to be done:
* Why doesn't SimpliSafe support ifttt integration? Seriously this baffles me so much.
* Why doesn't the technology support geofencing? If I leave the house it should automatically trigger, give me a notification on my phone, or send a message on the home hub or something.
* Sometimes the keypad locks up - especially if I am in "Home" Mode, and want to switch to "Away" mode, you have to disarm the system to "off" mode first - why?
* The cameras are way too expensive for 1080p - and they need a power backup solution - can we please also integrate these with Alexa Home devices (I realize Amazon may be less than cooperative here for competitive purposes, but one can dream)
* The Phone Widget (On android) - keeps logging me out! Seriously? How useful is it when you have 60 seconds to disarm your device, and realize it still needs to re-authenticate you? This _must_ be managed better.
A Horrible experience.
