Your company has been taking money from my checking account for services that were never available. Since the day I tried hooking up the system and discovered that I live in a area that doesn't have internet or wifi that Im able to connect to. I tried contacting your office a few times to correct the taking my money. Also tried explaining the problem and because this old 80 disabled veteran couldn't remember the password to no avail. Except repeatedly asked for the dam password. I thought the matter was settled when I had to get a new card with a different number. Like a silly old man i used it just once to buy what I thought was a camera that I thought I might be able to see who come on my property. Surprise surprise. There wasn't any camera in the box and your company snatched unto my checking account again! In my mind Safe whatever your slock company name is should be Thieves from hell.
SimpliSafe Refund Scam
Had to call four times to get through to someone about returning the equipment for a refund. When I finally got through, they told me they'd send pre-addresses boxes and only issue a refund once they received the returned equipment - but they never sent the boxes and now I'm over the 60 day return limit. Their refund policy is a scam.

A lot of service interruptions, and my camera doesn't work very well at all!! Other than that everything's pretty good!!! We are moving and I want to take the system with us and we have some outside buildings I want to also armed them or equipment with more cameras!! So I'll be ordering more soon hoping you have some deals possibly!!

Humidity is an issue
Received SimpliSafe and the directions and setup was easy. I gave it a trial period of four weeks and everything went as hoped for. Then I left for an extended period of time and the alarm triggered two times as the motion detector and one entry fob fell. The first, I was called and then I sent the local police to check without incident. The second, SimpliSafe didn’t call me but someone down line. When returning to my residence, I called SimpliSafe and asked both why the device didn’t stick and secondly, why I wasn’t the first one called. I was informed nonchalantly that if I live in a high humidity environment, I ought to have used the screws rather than the tape and they didn’t know why I wasn’t called on the second occurrence. One would think the information from the beginning would have boldly instructed the buyer to use the screws outright in the southeast US. I’ve been monitoring it myself without SimpliSafe ever since and have used the screws without issues.

We were enjoying the system until I realized there was a Monthly charge for use. So I canceled our system and they turned off our camera. Very disappointed in Sinpkisafe

the cameras suck at motion sensor range, video quality and duration if it does manage to not fail at recording and doesn't work without Wi-Fi the base station cellular connection fails weekly and need to be reset weekly by unplugging and removing the battery which requires a screw driver and a person to operate it.

My alarm was set off by my walking into my yard from my front door without disarming. Unfortunately the police were called after SimpliSafe was unable to reach me or my emergency contact. Great news is, it worked!! Thankful I am covered though I plan to be more diligent about disarming.

Setup and sensor battery issues
Had issues setting up the system to get all sensors to work. We have a 44 year old house with a brick wall built around the fireplace, which does not allow signal to go through it. I had the same issue with my WiFi but use a mesh WiFi system to solve that problem, so I do have WiFi on both sides of the wall. Since SimpliSafe only has one base station, I can’t locate the base station to catch all sensors on both sides of the brick wall. When I called support they indicated there was no “base extender” available and the only option would be to install a second base station, that operates independently from the original, thus causing two fees for monitoring both bases.
Battery life in door sensors is very poor.
I would have gone with a different system had I know the base couldn’t be extended and that it had the potential of causing me dual fees.

The installation was a disaster
The installation was a disaster - they damaged 3 windows. There was no training & the returning repairman did not want to be liable for the 1st repair man bad install. So dissappointing.
(To be fair - they did "settle" yet I am not sure this thing works - or not)

Did not work even after they sent me a second unit. I wasted 1k on SimplySafe. Customer Support sounded like kids fresh out of high school. No experience at all!

sensors fell off the wall
The sensors fell off the wall, I assume Simplisafe will tell me to screw them in. I already threw the screws away., I tried logging into the site and couldn't reset my password to log it. I didn't receive the email in a timely manner so I couldn't reset it. I didn't know I had to register with the city to have a monitored system. I want to change to non monitored system but haven't had the time to figure that out yet, Or log onto the site. I don't know where the interior camera should go. I didn't really see any recommendations for placement. Not too happy with it. I didn't have time to test anything. I need a doorbell and was going to order it but we'll see.
Hardware problem - poor communication
I have been a SimpliSafe customer for a few years, with installations in 3 locations. When I installed the system at a 4th location, I had multiple issues. The phone support technician was very helpful, but was unable to resolve the issues, and indicated he would overnight a new base station and keypad. This was a Wednesday evening, and he was clear the new unit would not arrive until Friday morning, which would have been fine. I planned to leave early Friday , but agreed to wait until the hardware arrived. Unfortunately, with no advance warning, the hardware did not arrive until Monday. The communication was very poor in this case.
Nothing worked
Nothing worked. Your rep told me several weeks ago that she would call me as a follow up. She never called me. At age 75 and with my vertigo problem, I cannot look up and try to fix things or climb even one step. I can't take chances. If you don't send someone to fix the problem, I will be forced to cancel the plan shortly.

Trying to cancel, but you make me call the service center and wait on hold for too long. That's a bad business practice and makes me feel completely taken advantage of as a customer.
