Customer Service lacking
Everything went well for the 1st month. Extremely easy setup. Last week the siren started making noises several times a day. I was on hold with customer service for a half hour before sending an email inquiry. It is now Monday afternoon and I have not heard back. I am also now having issues with one of the smoke directors starting to chirp. Update - have now waited on hold two nights for over an hour

On hold for 16 minutes to ask a simple question and I hung up. Also your systems inability to work with any other than 2.4 frequency makes it impossible to set up with modern cable companies. I tried to install a system for my mother in law in Lancaster, CA thru Spectrum Cable and they said it was an outdated frequency and would not work with their equipment.

SimpliSafe is a great idea but…
SimpliSafe is a great idea but the execution takes us back to the 90’s and alarm companies that ADT or the dreaded gym membership. I’m buying a “system” and the app to monitor it has been developed. I bring my connectivity, yes I have to pay to use the features of the system if I want to “self-monitor”. I realize that I trade some security for that but I’d rather not be tethered to another monthly service charge when I have the hardware and technology to self monitor at an acceptable level. Again, great concept but executed with greed in mind.

I regret investing into SimpliSafe
The cameras are always dropping. The fact that the cameras have to be hardwired is ridiculous.. especially with such sub-par quality. It’s only able to run on 2.5ghz wireless.. also their equivalent to competitors for doorbell/front door monitoring is pathetic. It is More expensive, MUST be hardlined and the quality is absolutely terrible. I regret getting invested in this system, their inability to upgrade, or even just keep up with where technology is at is frustrating.

The System I bought is in the box!
The System I bought is still in the box. The expense of installation was going to cost as much as the system! It's NOT EASILY done by a the homeowner! It turns out to be a complete waste of my money! Or at least twice the cost quoted if you need help installing electrical components!

Easy to install but barely useful without monthly plan
The system is nice and easy to install. However, the fact that I basically can't do anything without having my arm twisted into signing for monthly monitoring plan makes me regret my purchase. I should be able to add an SD card to the camera and record locally, for instance.

Poor technology for folks that have moderate internet speeds. I have DSL and is fast enough for Zoom Meetings, Netflix, etc, but not fast enough for this system to work.

Devices constantly lose connection on a brand new system. The keypad is useless. This is a security system where the things don't always work. Seems like a real problem.

You guys almost called the police…
You guys almost called the police because somebody walked by my front door camera as they were walking their dog. If I hadn’t been able to answer my phone you would’ve called the police and then I would’ve had to pay a fine for a false alarm. Plus I don’t like how my camera gives my phone notices when I walk by it in my own home even though I have the system not in home mode or away mode but just off. It seems ridiculous.

The equipment they sent didn't work
The equipment they sent didn't work, & they kept sending me replacement parts, by the time I gave up, it had been more than 6 weeks since the first parts arrived so they didn't want to take it back/give me a refund. It took WEEKS, dozens of phone calls, & a zoom meeting to get someone to let me send the stuff back for a refund. Also, half the time my second system doesn't even work. I have thousands of dollars in damage in my kitchen because their water sensor never worked and the app/system never reported any issue to let me know the sensor was faulty so now I am in the middle of ripping out the cabinets, floor, and ceiling of my kitchen.

Run away from this company
Got this as a gift for new house. House took a little longer to build. Went to set up system and it wasn’t what we really needed. Customer service was no help could not modify system or return. System was unopened and all I got was sorry maybe you could try and sell it to someone. Forget this company. Stick to a established company that provides customer service and follow through.

Where to place products
Ordered a ton based on what original Rep advised got my order no notations as to what devices went where - my home wasn’t simple and the rep told me specifics as to where they should go in order to work with garage. My husband died I had to Move out of state by myself during locked down covid stressed out and still have been unable to hook up my security system. Frankly being told to watch iTube videos to hook up omg 😳 Very disappointed and for the future when someone works with a sales rep for over an hour as to what items to buy and where to Place them and customer purchases based on those recommendations - the advised placement of purchase should Be sent even via email it would eliminate a lot of confusion for a non techy person

Terrible customer service
I ordered.... It never came.... I called.... I was told it was on its way... It didn't come still... I called again.. I begged for a refund and was told I could return when I got it.... Tracking showed it still on the warehouse waiting to be picked up... I had to call again.... Finally got someone to understand that I couldn't return what I never got.... Finally was refunded... Weeks later I received a camera that hadn't been available when I ordered.... I emailed to say I got it but I absolutely wasn't doing anything to get it back to them except hand it to someone at my front door or put it in my mailbox. RING HAS BEEN SO MUCH EASIER FOR ME.

I am not tech savvy
I am not tech savvy, so that when I would ask a question, I would get an impatient response, or I would say slow down and repeat what you said, that frustrated them even more. I sent the product back and the experience was worse.

Frustrated
I am a bit frustrated with my system right now. My door bell keeps detecting traffic when I say people only and block most of the street except where there is a sidewalk leading to my front door. I received a new key chain remote that does not work most of the time. I am going to need to contact Simplisafe AGAIN to see if I can get either of these issues resolved.

You have to register with your state
You have to register with your state. You cannot simply cancel or they keep you on the phone for hours trying to keep you. Then they send you all this stuff you didn't ask for but finally just gave up due to other engagements you are committed to. Then to top it off you have to find time to send the stuff they sent you back to them? I don't have that kind of time to sit on the phone for hours or run around returning stuff! Just stop already please I tried the service I dont like it if I don't do a monthly plan I can't use my camera etc.. stop it.

Messy Hippo Relationship
Call waiting times have gotten insanely long! I spent 45+ minutes waiting on hold multiple times. Integration with Hippo insurance was an absolute mess, even though it was recommended to me personally by a SimpliSafe rep - in reality, no one at either company had a single clue about how to get me up and running as a NEW Hippo customer and EXISTING SS customer. SimpliSafe needs to do a better job with the Hippo relationship, and make sure their reps are trained well because it made a really bad impression. I made at least 5 different phone calls to Hippo and SS, and were told different things every single time. I wasn't convinced the people at Hippo even knew what SimpliSafe was at one point. And ultimately, the products I received in the mail for my "new customer" bonus was half of what was promised. If I wasn't already a loyal customer simply looking to add and integrate with Hippo, I'd be out.
