I found out by accident the day before a trip that no primary phone number had been recorded during my activation phone call. In addition, the secondary phone number was recorded wrong. Had we not called in, we would have been totally unprotected. The original reason for the phone call was to troubleshoot sensors. Two were determined to be defective. This was on top of a video doorbell fiasco that was determined to be caused by slow internet (not your fault, but I had no warning from your staff either, I could have avoided the whole ordeal of multiple troubleshooting atttempts). Of course that also means that my two cameras are useless too. All in all, very disappointing.

Very poor response, multiple calls, very long hold times, disconnected several times and inaccurate information once connected. Still not connected to central station after 3 months.

The cameras ONLY work when the wifi is working good and lately the wifi has been very spotty, meaning our cameras are not catching everything they should be.
Also, they never helped me set my system up to where it would contact the police? Online it said I didn't have to do anything unless I had so many false alarms but mine isn't hooked up to anything... No cops call or come by and simplisafe doesn't even call when the alarm goes off. Not impressed with them so far.

The cameras in my house are nearly useless. They never capture complete video. They always indicate some type of error.
Non-existant Customer Service
Here's the reality. I actually do like the product. It's all really easy to setup and it works. However, when I did have an issue, I called customer service and discovered a 45-min wait time.
That's when I got online and realized this was normal for them. The biggest knock on them is the lack of CS support. Don't bother emailing, because they don't respond. No callback option on the phone either. So you have to sit and wait. Ridiculous in this day and age.
False advertising!!!!
This system doesn’t seem to be made for anything but a small home or apt. 3100 sq feet and it’s taken hours to get it to work. We have a certain knockdown finish on the walls and only Velcro will work for the sensors. It’s taken hours and hours to figure out what works. Then, your online sensor documentation has done nothing but glitch and lose all the info I inputted. Sooooo frustrating!!!! If we hadn’t invested so much we’d use something else. 30 minute installation my eye! False!!!!
Poor customer service
Customer service wait time would last from 45 minutes to over an hour. Once I finally was able to speak to someone about returning the product they offered zero assistance in settling the matter. This happened on more than one occasion.

There is nothing wrong with the system, it works as intended, but I have active cats and the motion alarms cannot be used no matter how you orient them or aim them, I tried a bunch of different ways and heights, and none of the units could be stuck to my painted walls, all had to be used with wall anchors !

The door bell ring (camera), has not worked from day one, so this is money wasted, your rep told me the that I needed at least 2.4ghz which my system meets. One of my window sensors does not work, and upon calling, your rep told me that the battery was low. I had spent over $200.00 in batteries in December, and changed all of them out, but I figured that maybe that one was bad, your rep sent me 4 batteries (thank you) but upon changing it out the problem persist and that sensor still does not work.
Alarm triggered but no verification call!
Back on the 10th of March, I accidentally opened my garage door and went into the garage forgetting that SimpliSafe was armed. The alarm sounded and I tried to disarm which I did but the SimpliSafe light was red! Nonetheless, I was expecting a phone call from SimpliSafe to check on me but to my surprise, no call! Nada! Nothing! I should have called SimpliSafe but I didn’t because if it happened again, I was Just going to cancel!

At first it was good, The couple of times we had a mistake alarm go off- we got a call. But now when our alarm goes off, nobody calls. It’s kind of scary because If we were in a real emergency we’d be in trouble. It is too late to return it. I guess we should have known since we paid for the cheaper route that our service would be “cheap” as well.
Extra cost
Your website defaults to the "old system" panic buttons. We have the "new" simplisafe so I had to re-order for the new system. Cost me an added $40. Also, some of the settings on the sensors aren't clear. On the "Home" setting motion sensors don't activate the alarm, but opening a door does. This may make sense in an urban environment but not in the country. Gotta go outside or at least open the door for air.

Ordered more than $400.00 of merchandise. They couldn't seem to get my shipment correct for over 2 months. Terrible customer service. You call and wait forever on hold. Inexperienced customer service or poorly trained to handle anything that is not a no brainer. They wear you out, to the point you just want to either cancel everything because of defective and/or settle for the wrong colors an hire someone else to install. Supervisors mislead me for comped installation available after their (4) shipments were incorrect. Exchange period was voided because It took so long for order to be completed. This was so not right.
Not very satisfied.
The camera was sent back, very disappointed in recording and having to pay extra to save footage. Entry sensors always show a open door. Tried adjusting magnet and sensor to no avail. SimpliSafe replaced a couple but they still do it. Have NEVER set the alarm when leaving because there is always a error message showing on the display.

My biggest complaint is the door bell. Door bell hasn’t work correctly since about a month after I received it. At first it started with poor connectivity. Called tech support and the guy insisted that it was because of poor signal and recommended a booster and said they were out but the would get a phone call and one would be sent to me for free. Since then I have not received anything. I have had to reset the camera multiple times works for a couple of days. Then just stop working and all you here is a hum on the door bell. Other than the camera I have been satisfied with the rest of the system.

Not real impressed so far. I walked in the house and forgot to shut off the alarm and it was a good three or four minutes before the alarm went off. The alarm is another thing, I can holler louder than that alarm can, at best it's a mild annoyance, definitely not something that would deter a thief. My internet cameras work most of the time, when they take a notion, or they will record 15 of the 25 seconds they're supposed to when disabling an alarm, then lose the rest. The doorbell /camera is useless unless you already have a doorbell installed or if you're willing to hire someone to come tear out a wall section just to wire in a doorbell. With the technology we have nowadays, why couldn't this have been a wireless doorbell with a battery that you could change out(I would have been fine with that). Even if you have an existing doorbell, there's no guarantee that the system will work with the one they send(I saw questions from other customers wondering how they could get theirs to work). Speaking of technology, the interior cameras have to be close enough to a wall plug to be useful (granted they come with an approx 10' cord) and if they decide to go on the fritz while you're away and can only pull them up on your phone, there's no way to troubleshoot the system or reset it, you just have to wait till it fixes itself, which usually doesn't take more than an hour or so. On the plus side I like to be able to pull up the cameras on my phone just to have a look, especially when I work nights. The night vision part of the camera works really well, another plus. Another plu is the keyboard and setting up the system initially. It's fairly simple. You can have it up and running in approx 30-45 min. Overall, I really wish I had waited a little longer to purchase a home security system, because this one probably would have not made the cut.

I would not recommend SimpliSafe to any person or families. The price point appears correct until you add one outdoor vid. Cam of any type and the offers are very deceptive including monitoring. After installing system with many additional devices frm SimpliSafe my Yamaha Golf cart was stolen 15’ from my front door. I could not afford the video door cam or any outside video camera that was offered at time of purchase. I am disabled and purchased a home in Florida. My Golf cart WAS MY LEGS and now I must wait for my home to sell in NY, to purchase a new one. Never had a penny missing/stolen from home in the east only to purchase new home in Florida as per my cardiovascular request. Extremely cold temps was doing me harm. Now I’m stuck in Florida with several life threatening conditions that prevents me from having surgery as for I was put in high risk pool as for the covid19.? Do not purchase until this company includes all security devices for a fair price.

Took a long time to get the items and then when setting it up 1. it would not connect to the master unit. Afterr reviewing the instructions again thinking I doing sometihing wrong and I found I did everything the instruction stated to do. So I return the itms and still waiting for my refund. This has been sereval months .
At this time I dont think I can say anything good about Simplisafe. I liked the idea of it but it just did not work. I might try it again only if you still have the same deal and you have improved the hole system.

I wish I were pleased with my system but I am not. The company that SimpliSafe recommended to do my installation was terrible- absolutely awful so I cannot recommend SimpliSafe to anyone because of my experience.
I did reach out to the company asking for remedy and I have not yet gotten a response. It’s been over a month.

I was told I will get full refund if I do not like the system. I did not like the system and returned within 30 days but so far I only got partial refund of money that too after calling few times
