You have the most poorly trained operators in customer service. I voiced a problem and the agents said, "There is no way we as a company will give you another month of free monitoring, you've had enough." The reality is that the reason I got the free months is because your poorly trained operators screwed up repeatedly on my 6 accounts
My 2000 wireless alarm was better.... :-(
The low monitoring and no contract is great, but they don't tell you just how many features are unavailable without monitoring. The app is completely unavailable.
My old alarm (2000's) had lights to tell me which door was open or what sensor picked up motion. I could see from the base where the motion was in the house, even unarmed. Now if the alarm goes off, I have no idea what the trigger was except for one notification. I really miss the display that told me.
I just turned the chime on to let me know when a door is open. Most alarms tell you which door. not this one.
Other alarms allow you to use home when home and away when leaving, but not have EVERY keypad beep. If we used home for just doors and away for motion and doors when upstairs in bed, the keypad beeps for a long time before arming, waking the people who are already in bed.
There are quite a few features that need to be added.
inept customer service
We were promised a callback from Marcel, ext. 207, regarding a deal for our startup plan. Never heard from him and SimpliSafe can't seem to find him. Our next contact, Brayden, said he would investigate and send us an email report the next day. That was weeks ago and we haven't heard anything. Should we trust our home security to a company with such inept customer service?
Lengthy ship time and customer service for returns
We ordered the security system and were billed immediately. It took over a month to receive it. We never installed and returned with a week of receiving it. It took 2 months and countless phone calls to check the status of the return and to see if account was credited. Buyer beware the customer service on returns is not a priority.

Need to have outdoor cameras that integrate to your system. Don’t want to have to have 2 systems to have good security system. Would not buy again for this reason.

I think they have a good product but customer service is not good. Bought a system four or five months ago. Had problems when setting it up. Tried a dozen times to call customer service for help and could never talk to a live person. Put it all back in the box and have never used it.

Not fully satisfied with the camera system. It does not appear to be picking up movement. Had someone vandalize my shop and it did not catch any activity. Moved the camera and it is still not showing any disruptions to start recording. I don't know why I am paying to have it record if it isn't recording until there is activity.

Just Another Expensive Home Security Sysyem
Generally I'm okay with the system. It is fairly low cost to buy the equipment. My issues are primarily related to the quality of the installation adhesive on metal widows. You can't really drill a hole in the metal frame without risking breaking the glass and the adhesive provided is not sufficient. I've had multiple senators fall off and trigger the alarm in the night. Not a pleasant experience. Furthermore, all of the smart home equipment I own had some basic app that you don't have to pay for. Not Simplisafe. You have to buy their premium monitoring plan to get that basic function - which makes them no better than any other security system you'll pay out the nice for - only these guys won't installation it as part of that premium plan. I used to think these guys were shifting the paradigm for home security but now I'm convinced they're just another average security company in disguise - Manning way more money than what it actually costs to run the business.

I’m out of town and I get a message my system needs to be reset because they are not getting a signal. But they cannot reset and neither can since I’m not there. MAJOR flaw.

The physical devices like the home station and window/ door openers work great, but I have had many issues with Simplisafe's electronic portions. The app has given me issues logging in on new devices. The Simplisafe system does not send me automated emails, even after consultation with their customer support folks who are, mmm, subpar.
Additionally I have experienced the same problem many others have I've come to find out in that my doorbell motion activated camera has stopped recording motions activities after about a month... most trouble shooting reviews say this is a hardware defect and they'll send you a new camera.
So far for 3 months in it's been quite a few problems...

Really slow and sometimes unresponsive customer service. Returns take a lot of tracking and follow-up to get a refund. Only positive is the quality of equipment and the professional monitoring.
I prefer real people to online resources.
Getting help from a real person is not easy. And this was way before the pandemic. I was disappointed.
Everything is installed now, but one of the magnets on a door keeps popping off. I have yet to use the system as intended because I don’t trust it.
Decent equipment, disappointing service
The equipment was easy enough to set up. The software is iffy, but workable. Still no Apple HomeKit integration.
But I can’t reach anyone when I call. I was on hold for 20 minutes at least once during my trial period and had to just give up.
If it hadn’t been for the hassle, I almost returned the whole kit before my trial ended just on the basis of that support experience.
Terrible Customer Service
The system is simple to set up. However, Customer Service is terrible. I have tried calling them and emailing them with absolutely no success. I was on hold by phone for twenty minutes and never was connected to a human. I have emailed twice and never received a response. Would not recommend them.
The monitoring service is well-below par
The monitoring service is nowhere near as responsive as most other professional monitoring services. If it were even an option, I would have monitoring provided by ADT or another service. I have other properties that use these services and equipment and I thought this would be on par with them. Not at all, really.
After sale customer service could be much better.
We are very happy with our system but we would like to be able to pay for a full year at a time online. I DO NOT WANT TO CALL THE OFFICE. No one seems to answer the phone and when someone does they are not very helpful.
