Great product but has very limited use…
Great product but has very limited use if you dont pay monthly fees. Doorbell records nothing if you dont pay so what good is it? Very disappointing. I bought blink products and greatly prefer them. I would not recommend this product if you are not willing to pay fees.
Poor quality
Door sensor battery was dead on arrival. Motion sensor failed after 2 months. Quality is poor and customer support hung up on me because I could not understand due to poor transmission caused by noisy call center.

I should have signed up for the other security company that rhymes with "bing". Simplisafe requires their doorbell to plug into an existing doorbell wiring bell. My house does not have one. I had to buy an adapter to provide power to my SimpliSafe doorbell which solved the power problem but now when someone rings the doorbell the only notifications are a soft ring sound OUTSIDE the house and a notification on my phone. I wanted the damn base station to make a door bell sound. Why can't it? It makes an alarm sound, an entry sound from all the sensors and says "system armed" and "system disarmed" voice sounds. How the hell does it not sync with the doorbell to make a chime sound?!?! BECAUSE of this terrible design flaw I tell everyone who asks me if I like my system to BUY A "Bing"! I am upset because when I brought this issue up to tech support they said THEY ARE AWARE AND ARE WORKING ON AN UPDATE. When I googled this problem I saw that it has been a problem for over a YEAR. What the crap people? I feel like I got ripped off by investing in all the equipment to not have a basic doorbell chime in my freaking house.
Look elsewhere
Easy to set up, have motion sensors and doorbell camera. The Doorbell camera connects upon motion or when some one rings maybe 3 out of 10 times. Usually it says "unable to connect".. I would save my money and go elsewhere. I live with it because of the sunk cost.

I bought simpli safe because Dave Ramsey recommended it as a gift for my husband. First time he installed the door bell, it didn’t work. We figured out that we had to hit the reset button on the back for it to turn on. Still didn’t work. Bought a WiFi extender. Works better but not great, we have since had to hit the reset button at least 3 times. I emailed customer service TWICE each with no response asking for a refund and my husband emailed once with no response.

When you sign up for their service And have them do the monitoring its great, And they have an app that works really good but as soon as you have to put a pause on your monitoring due to the covid19 BS, All of a sudden you’re persona non grata,You can’t use the app anymore to turn on and off your alarm system but you paid for so yeah pretty much jerks after you don’t want to pay them 25 bucks a month but not have any work to do what am I supposed to do about coming up with the $25 a month?I would never recommend him to anybody anymore I thought they were OK found out they were jerks

SimpliSafe is good for sensors only
SimpliSafe is great if all you want is the sensor based alarm system with flexible monitoring solution. However do not believe their camera and doorbell systems are well integrated. After months, I’m still having an issue in making our cameras actually work. Their mobile app also doesn’t provide as much detail around sensor activity history.

Advertising was misleading about functions of SimpliSafe without monitoring. I asked before I purchased and was told I could monitor myself the same as SimpliSafe monitoring does. I have not found that to be so.

It's ok. Not confident it works - batteries die really quickly, the base periodically doesn't connect to SimpliSafe. When we first got it, we installed one of our motion sensors upside down so my cat was setting off the alarm (probably happened ~10 times over several weeks before we fixed it). We pay for monitoring, and I was assured by support that it was set up correctly, but I never got a single phone call from SimpliSafe, and it's never contacted the authorities. Doesn't exactly instill confidence. Next time, I'll just get a dog.

While I like the product it seems to be very unreliable. It is in a second home miles from my residence. Most weeks I will stop an look in on that place as I travel for work. Once the alarm is shut off and then turned on to leave it is a struggle to get it to reset itself, usually I have to get help from customer service which is a 45 minute wait. That in it self indicates that other people are having problems also.

The door bell camera is supposed to have a Live Video feed. But anytime it detects a anything walking toward the camera. There is NO live video image of the what was detected coming and going from the camera.
I'd like to make it clear, the door bell cam is paired to a high speed DSL wifi connection that's less than 2- feet away.The so called Live video has significant lag time of whatever door bell camera is seeing. Most of the time the camera doesn't pick up anything at all. It appears that it's storing the same static video still pic.of when the camera image was last checked.
So this means, it's not refreshing the video image that the motion detector picks up. Don't know what's the problem, it hard wired to power and has a good WiFi connection too. I got 2-indoor CAMS also and both work fine. Yet these are further from the DSLWiFi signal.

I found you instructions very hard to use and understand. They are for people who are more adapted to the electronics age. I am 83 and my partner 86 and so it still isn't in operation. We just want the alarm and it is not hooked up to the telephone. We are in Baja, Mexico and just want our neighbors to know not the police. We have it almost hooked up by a young man who works for us. We tried it and the alarm was really loud and we don't want to anger our neighbors. So we are here in San Diego for our quarantine and will deal with it when we get back, whenever that is! Stay safe, Bruce D.Hay
Super slow refund
Super slow refund. It turned out that the service including the feature I wanted (smart phone access) was much more expensive than I thought. THAT was my issue, for not reading the fine print! That said, It took MONTHS to get my refund, and many emails and calls.
Poor Customer Support
Set up instructions were not clear. Customer service was impossible to reach by phone. I returned unused hardware and was not issued full refund. If would not recommend this service to anyone.
Great product, poor sticking strips.
Great product, however our New sensors do not stick like the Old sensors. When I told one of your customer service people about our problem...that some sensors were fall off, she said you had some complaints and your solution was for ME to go to Home Depot and buy heavy duty sticking strips. WHAT!!!
Why in the world don’t you send your customers some of the heavy duty stick strips? Why do I have to correct a problem of your making?

Good customer service usually but security cameras are not up to industry standards and doorbell is so integrated into app it is hard to quickly access when someone arrives. Motion detection and night vision are not good.

The concept where you cannot use your phone to arm and disarm is ridiculous. Only works when you pay monthly which is already pretty high. Ring is free and only 3 dollars a month to record. Not happy with this.
