There should be 24 hours of free video storage provided. The fact that my camera records activity and by the time I access it there's no one there. It's ridiculous.
Simplisafe things to improve
I have a Simplisafe system and am actually pleased with it overall. BUT the alarm panels are not loud enough when counting down or when issuing a waning if a door is opened without deactivating the alarm. T
Your website is difficult to use and does not meet acessability requirements. Out of curiosity I ran a standard accessibility checker that reported many failures. A big issue is poor contrast for key elements like links.

Right out of the box had issues with sensors not working because of the batteries. Called customer support and was told to remove and re-insert batteries because the batteries were good. Now months later I'm having to replace batteries because they are already dead. These batteries should last much longer, and I am having devices fall off the wall because the contact strips are failing. I had a simplisafe system at a previous residence and had no issues. These newer components seem to be of poorer quality than the older sensors.

I've been really disappointed in a few…
I've been really disappointed in a few key features of the system. My previous alarm system had a green checkmark that glowed to show you all the doors and windows were shut. The simplisafe keypad has no visible status indicator, and you can't even access the menu without disarming the system. The key fobs are absolutely worthless, because they give no indication when you push the button whether they worked or not. The fobs for my previous system beeped, and showed an LCD indicator of system status. Numerous other things, but those are two of the worst. I would not have bought this system if I'd known those two things.
You get what you pay for
The keypad is good, but the cameras are worthless. They go offline more than they are ever online. When you need it most they never seem to work. Every time I’ve tried using the speaker to talk through, it’s completely unintelligible. The 3rd party monitoring company has very limited access to your account and what is happening at your location when there has been an alarm set off.
All in all, for the money I suppose it serves its purpose, but if I had to do it again, I would not.

-very buggy software: motion push notifications dont work (have already troubleshooted with simplisafe rep, still no solution), app frequently says system offline, or cameras offline.
-would be nice if when you got notified from lockscreen that someone rang your door, swiping the notification would take straight to the camera, instead of having to waiti for the software to load, let navigating to the cameras, then waiting even longer for the camera to load (camera is set to 480p too)
I like my SimpliSafe system
I like my SimpliSafe system, but I can't give the customer service any stars. From day one when I installed my system the freeze sensor has been showing errors, multiple contacts with customer service, no solution. If one sensor throws errors, it's hard to trust the other sensors.
I was not happy with it overall.
I was not happy with the mounting methods or camera reviewing. Sensors were falling off walls. Also couldn't get camera to work with two phones. Each time you installed it on one phone, you were kicked off the other phone. Didn't have time to troubleshoot with call center.

Received the hardware and it wasn't a good fit for our home - too rigid (you can only incorporate products from the Simplisafe line but we already had a video doorbell).
I returned it for the money back guarantee and had a terrible time. It took 3 months to get my refund and I only received it because I follow up at least a dozen times, mostly without response. The 2 star review comes for customer service. I finally got my money back at least, but I would not recommend them based on my experience - I'd warn against it.
What! No App? Police can be expensive
We are in a very rural neighborhood and the only option of having to hook up to the police station was not on option for us.
Self-monitoring would be the way to (get an App).
Poor customer service
I am pretty happy with the equipment. Contacting customer service has been horrible.
Disappointed
Have had 3 entry sensors fall off in the first three months. Adhesive must be low quality. This would trigger a false alarm if armed. Also had another sensor fail altogether - simplisafe replaced it pretty easily, but it’s hard to trust the system at this point.

So disappointed in their misrepresentation of the functionality for their door lock. The advertisements clearly showed that the lock could be remotely armed and disarmed/unlocked within their app. But this app functionality is only available if you are willing to sign up for a monthly subscription forever. Not a very nice way to treat a first time customer.

Horrible experience with return a product. To the point of considering not having Simplisafe monitor my house, because I can not trust they will do a good job.

I have been a customer for many years, even got others to buy your products. After years of promises, you finally came out with a camera, I bought one. Only to find out I could only use it as a standalone device, that is unless I upgraded my entire system. Finally you came out with a new system that was tied into other systems, Amazon Alex was of interest to me. So I replaced my entire system, only to find out I had to buy you monitoring product - REALLY - if I wanted to integrate it with the rest of my smart house systems. The new camera doesn't tie into the system and my old camera won't register with the new system. I could have saved my money and stuck with the old system. As it turns out there is a surprise buried in your systems that is hard to find out until you buy your product.

some of my sensors beep when opening/closing doors, others dont. makes me think the system isn't connected. When I press the "test" button, seems to work fine. Also, response time to customer service is terribly slow.

I bought this system bc of their advertising and how well they claim to work with pets and just offer so much customization. So many issues...
Sensors are trash! Motion detectors constantly set off by an 8lb dog. My glass break sensor goes off when you drop anything including a box of mac n cheese! The alarm goes off and you disable it in the app and the police still get dispatched.
Response is ridiculous! The calls from the call center never seem to go through to my phone when they claim they call before sending the police, but they sure as hell go through later when they call me about their response. Oh and let’s not even go into how they call my emergency contacts before calling me. So now I have those people calling me while the police are at the door with guns drawn and the monitoring center finally calling to see how they did ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!
All the trouble shooting in the world has been done to my system and the agents can’t find a problem and say it is working “as intended”. Bull$?!#!!! I basically paid all this money for an overpriced door chime and some cameras.

I am unable to activate camera. Does not recognize my internet connection even though it is 2g. Everything else I own including PCs and Macs work seamlessly. They sent me a replacement camera which all does not connect. Simplisafe told me to contact my ISP

I am so not impressed. The customer service is terrible, nothing is really resolved. I sat on hold for over 25 minutes three times, a different times during the day and finally had to hit the button as if I was a new customer and my call was answered immediately. I wouldn't recommend Simplisafe for my dog house.
