Most of the time our cameras don’t t Work. I still don’t know how to set the thing by the do, so mostly it is not used.

Charged for monitoring I didn't want
When I signed up for SimpliSafe, I got two months of the 24/7 interactive monitoring for free. I decided I don't need it and would get standard monitoring instead, but the next month I was charged $24.99 for it. I contacted customer care, explained the situation and was told I'd get a refund. To date, that has not occurred. So, a more accurate rating would be zero stars for taking up my time without resolving anything.

The sensors don't work
The sensors don't work. You have to do jumping jacks in front of them to activate. The handy stick to control then stopped working after about 30 days.. Can't say this was a good buy.

Very long response time when opening…
Very long response time when opening door. I've set off my alarm like twenty times after entering pin. System parts constantly glitch out (suddenly not recognized as closed when they are e closed). Can't set a schedule to auto-arm system

Poor Quality Product and Service.
After spending a fortune and receiving a fully jazzed system - I couldn't have been more disappointed. First I learned the system's Installation and Service was outsourced to a middle-man company besides SimpliSafe, that further outsourced the actual installation to yet other middlemen third parties. This required a customer in my city to be at-home-on-hold for two or more days possibly, with absolutely zero guarantee of SimpliSafe's third party 'phone service' finding somebody to install the system. I gave up on that plan and hired a local company I found myself. Then, I noticed several of the various types of individual sensors were faulty, plus many others needing their battery replaced immediately or within a week of my systems delivery. Please, don't even ask my opinion on the product's functionality. Much less my description of substantial false claims SimpliSafe makes regarding their service and product effectiveness. I will say with 100% certainty that despite my placing all the systems motion sensors nearly to the top of my traditional sized homes ceiling's, and being able to duckwalk beneath the sensors myself without setting any off. Somehow, both my small cat, along with a neighbors tiny Yorkie - always seem to trigger multiple sensors just walking through the house.

I ordered this service sometime in July…
I ordered this service sometime in July of 2020. I received my equipment and I moved. Upon moving I realized I could not afford to pay for the monthly service so I contacted them and sent my equipment back and was refunded promptly. The issue is that a year later I find out that the service had been active and still is at the address I lived when it was mailed to me. Not only do I not live at that address anymore I was forced to move from the place that I had moved to from there. I was only there for 1 month and moved. So for a whole year I have had service at this address not knowing it ( was never asked for payment for monitoring) And I get this email out of the blue saying ( We are sorry to inform you your service was never disconnected when you moved a year ago. I am not even sure exactly what this service is for or what they do other than monitor you. I emailed them hoping to get an explanation and I was send an email to review their company. So that's my review and I hope they are done monitoring me because this was in no way legal or ethical.

I bought a security system from…
I bought a security system from SimpliSafe with the condition that I wanted it installed by a SimpliSafe technician because my husband & I are not physically able to do so. The system came and I began the process of putting in dates and times available on line for SimpliSafe to install. This was not easy as I am 80 plus years old. This went on for about 2 months until I was finally told SimpliSafe does not have technicians in your area so u will have to do it ur self. This left only a few weeks to find someone to install. I finally found “the nephew of a friend” who said he would “try”. I wanted a factory technician because I had lots of questions I wanted answered” . Of course, the “fellow off the street” could not help me with this. I have the system in but do not have the confidence that it will work in an emergency. I would advise people to make sure SimpliSafe has technicians in ur area before u buy. Do not just assume or trust ur sales person to make sure an installer is available. Unhappy customer in Arkansas.

you keep disabling my cell phone
you keep dropping my cell phone's ability to monitor our system . There-fore I can not set or view my unit with my phone, This is not good

Very poor service in particular when…
Very poor service in particular when the system was malfunctioning. After paying for all the services and having their person set it up, still getting multiple false alarms at all times of the day and night. Very, very dissapointed.

Most of the system seems ok
Most of the system seems somewhat ok . However, the cameras are abysmal. In low light or darkness are totally useless. Also, they are in B&W, not color.

camera did not capture anything. The fact that simplisafe charges to use a mobile app to control alarms is insane...more cost for simplisafe to manage alarms.

We tried the SimpliSafe system and…
We tried the SimpliSafe system and returned it due to the fact the window alarms and door alarms didn't fit our window and door frames. We returned all the equipment by SimpliSafe return labels but a month later the company is telling us our system is not functioning properly and we just got billed for a month's service for service/equipment we haven't had for over a month. Now I get to wait for 30+ minutes for a human on the phone since repeated emails go unanswered.

Easy to install but not reliable
SimpliSafe was easy to install, but in the 8 months since installation the system has experienced glitches: 1) adhesive is not strong and when it detaches it issues a false alarm saying that an entry door is "open"; 2) one sensor has stopped working twice, each time the advice from SimpliSafe was to remove the battery to reset. Unfortunately, those failures did trigger false notification that an entry was "open" when I was not at home; 3) just two days ago the system gave verbal notification that the kitchen sensor was "open" when I activated "away" mode. The kitchen doors were locked and the sensor appeared to be working fine. But each time I activated the system I got that message. After a couple of hours the system seemed to fix that glitch. Those erroneous notifications make the system too unreliable. The police have already showed up for one notification, and the city charges for any more. Not being able to tell if an alarm is false or not makes the system of little worth to me.

Did not get the offered discount . Now have not gotten promised refund.
I ordered a system from You Order #19780575. I did not receive the 40% discount offered. Multiple attempts to contact customer service failed. I have since returned the system unused for the promised full refund and to date have not received that. The plan was to take the refund and repurchase desired system for the offered discounted price since unable to even discuss it with any of your representatives. About to contact American Express for their help in getting my money returned. So far You to me you are just a sham company.

Locks & Alarm Scheduling - Disappointing
My locks don’t function properly most of the time. They are jammed. And I can’t set up an automatic schedule. I want my alarm to turn on without my intervention every night at x time and shut off in the morning or switch to home mode at x time.

Telephone Wait Time Was Ridiculous
I hung up because I didn't want to wait over 40 minutes on the telephone to solve a serious problem with my Simplisafe system. First bad experience in 5 years!

Can’t get help!
I’m very unhappy with the recording for cameras now. I used to have recordings for every motion detected even when unarmed. Now it’s required to be set to home or away for it to record sensed motions by cameras. I don’t always want my alarm on but want to have everything recorded for the safety of my home. I don’t have a way to watch activity outside my home while being inside with doors and windows closed up. But things can happen. I don’t arm my home til going to bed or leaving the home. Next, I’ve moved and CANNOT get anyone on the phone to help me. I’ve waited on hold for more than an hour multiple times and got frustrated and finally hung up. The wait times are ridiculous anytime I need to call in for help. We’re paying for better service I would think. Other companies offer better service and capabilities for their cameras. I’m considering switching.

we are older and were really excited to…
we are older and were really excited to get a Simplisafe system. We had 5 different days that a subcontractor was to come and install our system. no one ever came after scheduling. nor did they call. The problem was that we paid for installation, but it wasn't a cost effective job because of the distance to our home, however it anyone would have communicated that we would have gladly paid any price they wanted to just to get the help and wisdom. No one came after a couple of weeks so we sent everything back.
