I placed the camera in the window and it never captures motion during the day or night? Sometimes the camera that I have inside dose not capture motion. The video playback feature is usually unreliable.

Almost a year after and I can say the system is not reliable!!!!
So far I have had a bad experience with Simplisafe, even though I wanted to love it so much. For some odd reason, one camera does not fully record when the alarm is triggered, which makes it hard to see what is going on when I am not home, thus defeating the purpose of having the system in the first place!! I know it is not the internet because I am not home when this happens so no one else is connected to the internet but the alarm system. There should be no problems at all and yet, the recordings are always interrupted on either of the cameras. Only on rare occasions, do both record simultaneously as it should when the alarm is triggered. The other issue I have is I have to pay for the monthly fee in order to see my cameras online and use the app after purchasing the whole system… this is BS!! The whole purpose of buying this system was to be able to not be stuck paying a monthly fee!!! Just ridiculous!!!

I waited on hold 25 minutes and then I got hung up on. Every time I call it’s a 20-30 minute wait and then I have to leave for work or something.

Disappointing system
Disappointing system. While the new model of entry sensors are smaller, they are still quite large. They are noticeable in the windows even behind the blinds. A bigger problem with the sensors are that they do not stick well. Even though the surfaces were thoroughly cleaned, many of the sensors have fallen off after a period of time. I have had to replace the adhesive strips with much stronger strips to get them to stay securely. I have also had to replace batteries on a number of the sensors starting within weeks of installing the devices. Seems like this should not be the case with new devices. And the biggest problem is that the sensors do not always respond correctly. The system states that sensors are not responding. Even those with new batteries occasionally fail. Opening and closing entries sometimes resets them. Sometimes I need to remove and reinstall the battery to reset them. Again, this seems like this should never happen and makes it so you cannot trust the entries are all protected. Overall, very disappointed.

Help Desk was useless!
If SimpliSafe had just warned me that their equipment was not compatible with AT&T internet service it would have 1) saved me from purchasing the equipment and 2) many hours of troubleshooting only to find that out. SimpliSafe, educate your frontline help desk, please!!!

Disappointed
I have two Simplisafe systems, one at home, one at a beach house. Only a couple of weeks after installing the beach house system, a smoke alarm was triggered; the sensor was faulty. We were not there and the fire department was set to break the front door down but were stopped by a neighbor who, fortunately was able to contact us immediately and enabled us to get a key holder to let them in. Simplisafe sent me a new sensor, but I have lost trust in the quality of their products. I cancelled the beach house monitoring service and have tried four times over the past few weeks to replace it with the self monitoring service. Each time I am left on hold for 15 minutes of more before giving up. I have sent three emails to Simplisafe asking them for a solution, but each time I get a form response directing me to the customer service number which puts me on hold. It seems they are good at selling their product, but very poor in supporting customers. After this experience I cannot recommend them.

Fatal flaw in an alarm, for a family with pets or children.
I think the alarm system is average at best. There is a hole in the system when the phone app is used exclusively. Simply put, if you are nowhere near the wall mounted controller and you forget to close an outside door (example, you or your kids opened it for the dog) then there is ZERO ZERO warning on the phone app that you have accidentally NOT closed a major break-in exterior door. Worse, the Simplisafe alarm has AUTOMATICALLY placed that door as a bypass essentially, and NO LONGER WILL PROVIDE SECURITY for that door. So, people can simply wander right in and you NEVER knew the door was ajar and you have ZERO security! That is the dumbest hole in a system system I have ever heard of! The problem is Simpli that if you have a family on the go, this is not a possibility or a one-in-a-million issue, its a when. Hopefully they make change to the app that tells you (Exactly like the wall mounted controller) that you have left an exterior door open BEFORE the alarm sets!

Can't keep track of my payment information, why trust with my home security?
Not sure I trust the ability to monitor my home alarm if the billing department can't keep track of my payment information. Received an email for each of the first 4 months of 2021 stating that my payment method on file was not able to process payment. Each month I updated it and the next month the same issue. Can't keep track of the way customers are paying you is not very reassuring if I am entrusting SimpliSafe with my security system.

Have had nothing but problems with the system. Key pad had to be replace and now the base station is not working. Customer service has been okay but product quality is very disappointing. Would return whole setup for a refund if possible.

I spent more than two hours on a call that ended with NOTHING
I spent more than two hours on a call to answer a direct question. During the call I was indirectly accused of the event I was questioning of not having happened. I further did not receive an answer to my question and was handled in a condescending manner throughout; "sir, let me repeat myself...". I feel the technician didn't truly understand and continued to want to argue that what I was demonstrating as an issue could not have happened. In the end, I had to simply give up as the technician couldn't further the discussion with progress. It was very frustrating and not at all worth the time I spent. As an aside, I am an engineer building electronic systems primarily for DoD use and therefore familiar to some extent of the design aspects of a product such as Simplisafe. I'm not nuts and the reason I called was that I too did not expect the strange functionality of the system.

Had two locations protected by…
Had two locations protected by Simplisafe for years with no issues but then monthly monitoring charge(s) issues started where Simplisafe was not able to charge my credit card. Every month I would receive several emails informing of my pending loss of monitoring services at both locations requiring me to call at least twice to be informed each time the problem was known and would be resolved. After several months of this I started looking around for other options and found Ring. I have replaced both systems with Ring and found Ring to be every bit as capable, and more so in some ways as Simplisafe, for roughly $15 less per month per system for monitoring. Sorry Simplisafe but you need to get your act together.

Caution read this review before purchase
The system has never fully worked since purchasing. When delivered it was left by the gate to our driveway behind a tree, and the only way we knew to look for it was we received an email asking us to activate the system. No delivery notification when spending over $500. The smoke detector was on backorder for several weeks to follow. The door lock has been replaced twice and still does not work properly and gets an intermittent message "door lock not responding". Definitely remember your door key as the keypad sometimes will not open the lock. The camera constantly looses connection with the system even though we have extremely high speed internet and no issues with any other household devices using wi-fi. Sensors have been replaced on several occasions and still don't work properly. Base station had also been replaced due to not being able to download a firmware update. Return window was from the time purchased online not arrival time or activation time. So return was refused even though most issues where within 3 months of purchase and 2 months of activating. Some of the customer service reps can be nice and understanding but some can be extremely rude as well. Customer service also has no desire to receive or pass along feedback on what could help better the system and service. The only way to log a complaint is via snail mail with an old fashioned hand written letter. The answer to all these issues has been a couple of free months service for something that does not work or make one feel safe in there home. Have not felt protected in the home since purchasing and should have stayed with ADT!!!

This review is about my experience with Video Door Bell Pro: I purchased this item as an addition to my SimpliSafe security system. Installation was easy. Connecting my existing door chime to this unit was not possible due to the location for the Video Door Bell Pro. I was expecting that my main alarm system's hub would sound the new door bell, but it did not. I called SimpliSafe technical line and talked to a tech person for over 80 minutes to figure it out. He admitted that it should work as I expected to. So, he arranged to send me another door bell. The second unit does not chime through the hub either. I am keeping the unit, but I am not happy with it. Also, there is a long delay in receiving the notifications from the video door bell.

I purchased a complete house system
I purchased a complete house system. My wife wanted it installed by pros not by me. She wanted to make sure everything works correctly and if there are problems that I would not be blamed for installing it incorrectly. SimpliSafe does not have pros to do the installation as advertised. We returned the system (very disappointed). We will be purchasing another system from a company that can provide installation and startup services.

It took well over twenty minutes to connect on the phone with customer service, another twenty minutes to answer my question, and another ten to resolve this simple issue. I was inquiring about the backorder status of a recent purchase. SimpliSafe never informed me that it was backordered; I only discovered the fact when I went online to track this down.

Product okay but alarm monitoring is bogus. My system in triggered by false alarm and monitoring never notices or even calls to check. Not worth the cost
