Product isn’t great but the customer service is good. It took a coupe of calls to get my refund processed but it finally happened.
Product: completely indoor system - doesn’t monitor outside (inside mounting which reflects glass instead of the outside at night), must be plugged into actual plug, disconnects constantly from WiFi therefore not reliable, - those were my big issues.
The system itself is easy but recording/streaming is terrible.
The system itself is excellent but once you deep drive into the App, recording and streaming... it’s terrible.
The video/stream always goes offline when a motion is detected. If someone rings a bell, you can’t even see who it is cuz the video shows offline since it’s recording.
So it’s pretty useless. It takes me 15-20 seconds and by that time I’m frustrated to see who it is. I just open the door.
Their technology/app needs to be heavily updated. It’s counter-productive and horrible user-experience

An issue at nearly every turn
When the system works everything is fine, but that is a rarity. The cameras have extreme difficulty connecting. The company kept trying to blame the internet but it had issues even when the house was empty and not sharing and bandwidth. Additionally, distance from the router does not make a difference. This was true with or without the paid service.
I have been charged for an item that I did not receive and was unable to get a refund. I have had items sent to the wrong address. I have had items sent to me that I did not request. A mistake made by customer service took all my items offline and it took multiple calls over the course of a few days and nearly 2 hours to fix as I was sent from representative to representative.
Had I not invested so much I would've uninstalled the whole thing already.

Poor or no response to alarms. Local law enforcement not notifed despite protocols for this being met. I have little or no confidence in this system protecting my family in a life threatening situation.
On line account hard to access. Dual verification process very slow or does not work on frequent recurring basis.

I spent a lot of money on a very robust security system for my home and feel complete ripped off.
Poor interaction with mobile device. I get an email. My lightening and tornado apps have unique auditable alarms on my cell phone. Why doesn't my Simlisafe app?
Probably the most agregious of all my critiques: These are all relatively easy fixes yet after several customer complaints nothing has been done. This indicates Simplisafe just doesn't care to do better.

The man I spoke with on the phone last was awful. He was inappropriate and unprofessional. He asked me how old I was, which is none of his business. He was telling me how his coworkers like screaming across the room. He told me how a customer called him stupid. He also told me that the person that helped me previously should get written up.
The person that he said should be written up did ship my keypad to the wrong address, however, they provided excellent customer service. I got off of the phone feeling better than I did when I called. But when I got off of the phone with the unprofessional guy I was irritated and confused by his behavior. If I need to talk to customer service again I hope I don’t have to talk to that guy.

A couple of things that make this…Unhappy
A couple of things that make this product undesirable. The stickem they put on their devices doesn't work well. About 10% of my sensors have problems. Also, devices and sensors fail too frequently for no reason. We had three failures in 9 months. The alarm system that was replaced by simplisafe had zero failures in 17 years. I wouldn't recommend Simplisafe just yet. while it is easy to install the quality is just not there.

Not worth the money
The app does not notify quickly enough and the software is buggy in general. The motion sensors pick up my 25lb dog jumping on the couch even though it’s placed at the recommended height. When I called customer service the person was rude and never called me back.

The customer service wait times are long...
Cons: The customer service wait times are really long. It is not acceptable for a paid service. After a long wait and getting hold of someone the call gets disconnected and I never got a call back. The email responses take more than 24 hours when simplisafe promises a response in under 24 hours.
Camera subscriptions should be included in base subscription and it's ridiculous for someone to pay additional 10 bucks when competing companies like ring and wyze have cameras included in their base plan which is cheaper than simplisafe's. Simplisafe really need to think their strategy when it comes to pricing and being competitive.
Pros: Generous return policy with a 60 day trial. I'm glad the company offers it. You don't realize what the system does offer and 60 days makes it really easy for someone to make a decision whether to keep the system or not.
I had trouble twice with my door…
I had trouble twice with my door sensor. It kept falling off the wall. The first time I called customer service the person said she would send a new one express 2 days. It never came. I called back the customer service rep said the first person did not complete the order. Had to wait another week before sensor arrived. The new sensor only worked for about 1 month, then it quit. I had to call back again. The replacement sensor kept falling off the wall. We'd have to get up in the middle of the night. We had to use electrical tape to keep it on the wall. :( I would not recommend this system or service.

Sharing credentials is bad.
It's unacceptable that I have to share my credentials with my wife for her to use the app. It's even more stupid that when she signs in a text comes to my phone and I have to give her a code. SimpliSafe must have assumed all of their customers would be lonely singles. If I had understood this failing before I purchased SimpliSafe I would have gone with your competitor, Abode.

Entire system is a mess. Sensors don't work properly. The smart Lock often jams.

Customer service is unavailable. For 3 days I have been unable to activate my service at my new location. No one answers the customer service number.

Contacted Simply Safe Customer Service…
Contacted Simply Safe Customer Service because of a programming issue with our main unit. Unfortunately, the their customer support tech was not able to resolve the issues with our main unit and said they would send us a replacement. That was several months ago and we have still not received the replacement for our main unit.
