I purchased two outdoor cameras along…
I purchased two outdoor cameras along with the weather proofing kit that comes with a 25ft cord. It never said anything about I had to have a contract with them to be able to use the record function or even a contract at all!!!. Well the one camera is already down and water logged. I mean how is that supposed to happen when you sell me the weather proofing kit to protect it? Now I’m stuck eating my money when I could have went with a better camera that was weather proof that would record. In my opinion they are a rip off and a scam!!! Beware everyone just really research the web because there are some great security cameras out there that DON’T require contracts and expense monitoring.

Multiple sign ins lead to poor performance.
I have two accounts with simply safe… One for my home and one for my business. The sign in procedure is too difficult under these circumstances. Support is a little help!

Was paying monthly fee and was unaware…
Was paying monthly fee and was unaware that service wasn’t even working. Had several motion sensor alarms from a faulty sensor and never received a phone call. When we called about faulty sensor we were told that monitoring facility was never notified.

Pretty sure this is a scam
Terrible products that do not work. Also my alarm has gone off and no one has called me to check on us even though it was passed the allotted amount of time when I should have gotten a call. I have tried to cancel my membership by calling several times but I get placed on hold for 30 + mins then hung up on as soon as someone answers. I feel like this is a scam.

The customer service rep never got back…
The customer service rep never got back with me on a back order 6 months old. Motion detectors continue to fail and give me false alarms.

Disappointed
All the sensors keep falling off my windows and doors. I have a nice home with Great Windows and doors. I've tried new takes and nothing is working. This is why I haven't had my system monitored. Can't get door bell camera connected. For one, the door bell doesn't look out to the street, it faces side to side of my front door.

We had 2 false alarms with your smoke…
We had 2 false alarms with your smoke detectors, one of which brought 2 gigantic fire trucks to our house at 2 in the morning. The other issue is your cameras. The doorbell camera alerts us if someone is there; however, 5 out of 10 times when I access the app to see who’s there, I get the message “It will take a few minutes to process the video”! That is unacceptable. Your technical support advised me to update my WiFi, which I did and it cost me $250. It made some improvement but not much. In closing, I do not trust your equipment and if anyone wants to buy used equipment, I have it for a very good price!

I am not overly thrilled with the system. It is very easy to set up. When I called I was told that the motion detector wouldn't go off because my cat and dog were too small, so I went along with it, okay fine. Then I start getting calls from the monitoring system because my dog and cat are setting off the alarm. When you turn off the alarm going into your house the camera stays on. So, the camera, as long as it's detecting motion, will be recording you in your house. I got to the point where when I walk into the house I turn the camera towards the wall so it will finally shut off. Got the motion detector to stop going off all the time because of the dog and cat by turning that upside down and lowering it down on a different wall. So far so good let's see how it goes

Poor customer service
Poor customer service. I cancelled service and returned equipment yet they continued to bill me for several months. I finally had to cancel the credit card they were charging.

This has been nightmarish
This has been nightmarish. We have a popular internet provider and do not have problems with other devices yet the SimpliSafe is constantly OFFLINE rendering it useless.

I have been without a fire alarm…
I have been without a fire alarm attached to my system for over 1 week. The customer service rep told me that a replacement unit would be sent via overnight. He was helpful and appreciative of the problem. However,I then received an email stating that the unit would arrive within the next 5-7 business days. That was on Friday. Now my home is unprotected for an additional week. This is also the 2nd fire alarm that has gone bad in a little more than 1 year. I suggest that Customer Service have a constructive conversation with ordering and shipping departments.

Android interface is not intuitive
Android interface is not intuitive, and getting worse, as if to slow you down or discourage you from using it. I have four cameras so I posted instruction to confirm burglar is present before calling the police, but they insist on calling the cops FIRST. Manuals look good but they don't have much information. You have to go to their users website to research issues, but there is no search function. Would like to see much better range. They claim 1000 ft, but are typically just 250' with direct line of sight in an open field, and MUCH less if you have interference in your home. On the positive side, SimpliSafe has the BEST looking sensors, that work together like a $$$ system; e.g., all smoke alarms beep in unison when just one detects smoke.

Customer service is not good
Customer service is not good. I waited 65 minutes to speak with someone about my account only to hear the couldn’t help me and I would have to be transferred and how long will that wait be? About 65 minutes.

There's no way to buy the system and…
There's no way to buy the system and self-monitor remotely - you must pay SimpliSafe for that privilege. There are other products on the market that will allow you to do that.

No way to contact SS by phone
I wrote an e-mail weeks ago to SS because I couldn't talk to anyone on the phone due to long times holding. My request was to stop monitoring my system after the 30 day free trial. Then, the other day my credit card statement came with a charge from SS for next months monitoring. Again, I can't reach anyone by phone.

Sensor Failure Support
I have a water sensor which the base station keeps saying is offline. I emailed support and asked what to do. They said I should call when there is time. I do not have time to call support and wait on hold. This is very frustrating to me.

Home Alarm system
After spending over 2 hours on the phone, half being on hold. I was sent another base station. I was told it was not hooking up to a cellular connection. I received the new base station. It is also not hooking up to a cellular connection. I have verizon and have no problem taking or making calls on my cell phone. I also can video chat with no problem. I have not taken the time to call again yet. I really don’t want to waste 2 more hours on the phone.

Excellent products, but i have never been able to get an answer to a question about the cameras, in low light conditions. I wrote at least 3 times.

Simplisafe kicks me off all the time…
Simplisafe kicks me off all the time and states I do not have service when my wifi is working perfectly. I work from home so I know my internet is always working but simplisafe kicks me off all the time. Simplisafe does not pick up a lot of things in front of camera. As well as side camera just stopped working one day so now I have to borrow a ladder from someone in order to push the button to start it up again. The door sensor fell off one day and sounded my alarm at 3:15am so the sticky tape was not secure enough. I will be going through Ring next time.
