One of my cameras keeps going offline. I’m not there for a while so I can’t check on the flashing light to figure out what the issue is.

I waited on the phone a number of times for over 30 minutes for customer service and never got through. I have a couple of sensors that were delivered non functional. Overall the systems works great but the customer service is terrible.
MIXED REVIEW OF SIMPLISAFE EXPERIENCE
We DID order a "re-conditioned" system, which arrived with a dead / weak battery, and some components that did not work and had to be replaced!
One would think that (especially) a "re-conditioned" system would be "Quality-Checked" BEFORE being shipped out ! Apparently NOT.
The "double-sided sticky tape" did not hold our sensors well on the wall (they fell off minutes to hours afterward).
Tried to get an (advertised) service to set up our system, as we are older and NOT particularly "Tech Savvy", and after MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, the advertised service FINALLY admitted that they could not find ANYONE to install the Simplisafe Security system.
Granted, we do live in a (relative to the Seattle area) relatively unpopulated area ( the Olympic Peninsula in Washington) - although our town IS large enough to have a Costco and a Home Depot, but there was no warning in ANY of Simplisafe's ads that this might be a possibility !
On the positive side, we DID GET A FULL REFUND, and all of the Simplisafe phone personnel were polite and quite helpful, but it was a LOT of hassle and waiting before this occurred.
Difficulties In Setting Up System
All of the window and door sensors were very easy to set-up, but I have been unable to set up the doorbell or any of the cameras. Very frustrating! I tried to call SimpliSafe Technical Support three times, but was on hold for 30 minutes each time.... no luck!

I've had a serious problem with the live monitoring. Called and spent hours on the phone complaining, was told a customer service manager would call back, but never did. Very disappointing. I don't think the monitoring service is very reliable.
Sensors do NOT hold; cameras constantly go out
The sticky pads on the back of the sensors do NOT hold. I’ve had to pay almost $150 in fees to the city already this year (and I haven’t even had SimplySafe for even ONE year yet!!!) because of false alarms, I.e. the sensors fall off and trip the alarm.
The cameras constantly lose service, disconnect, or fail to capture movement.
I should’ve listened to the reviews I read before purchasing a security system. They would’ve saved me so much money and more importantly, prevented me from having so much stress. It’s to the point where I won’t even arm my security system because I’m so anxious about it being falsely activated by another sensor falling off. The fees the city charge can go up to $500 PER OCCURENCE. You all see the problem here, I’m sure.

My questions to Simplisafe are never answered, whether by email or telephone. The people answering the phone are not only not knowledgeable, but will hang up when they can't answer your question. Long hold times are the norm. You have to go it alone with Simplisafe.
Spoke with two employees regarding my…
Spoke with two employees regarding my account. Both employees were inattentive. I had to repeat my email address three times. Both employees sound sleepy and did was not helpful. In addition, I ask them to check my account to see if my new credit card was entered and delete the old one. I am on the phone now with an employee name Carol and the supervisor will not come to the phone to take my complaint. Time 1/26/2021 at 1500. Bad customer service.
My garage door lets me open and close…
My garage door lets me open and close it anywhere in the world and notifies me when it’s opened or closed at no charge. Simple safe wants to charge you a fee. A total ripoff.

Have attempted to cancel subscription several time but it is still activated! Not happy.
Unacceptable customer service
In June I ordered a system and on completing the phone order I received an email to set up an account. I entered my email and the site asked me choose a password. I entered a password which met the specified criteria but received a message stating the password was unacceptable as it did not contain a punctuation mark ( this was not specified in the original password criteria). I tried to submit a new password but the site would not allow the original to be changed. I called the customer service number where I was kept on hold for 3 hours and 20 minutes. Yes, I was timing it. The call was finally answered and the service representative told me she “needed my password” to assist me. I again explained the above and asked for a supervisor. I was put on hold for another 20 minutes and finally she again answered and sai she was speaking to her supervisor. At this time I was completely frustrated and asked to cancel the order. After another30 minutes on hold, the original rep told me the supervisor had cancelled the order and issued a refund.
Three days later a system arrived by USPS. I again called customer service (only a 25 minute wait) and explained all of the above. They asked me to return the system and emailed me a return tag. I asked for a UPS or FedEx tag as returning by USPS was very inconvenient for me. They of course then emailed me a USPS tag. I left work early to get to the post office and returned the system.
In July I received my credit card statement. I was charged for the system and no refund was issue. Another call to customer service (20 minute wait) and I explained all of above to a new rep. He checked his computer and stated they had received the return but did not issue a refund because one had previously been made. They told me to call my Visa provider . I called USAA and they checked their records which showed only the original charge and no refund in either June or July. I am currently disputing the charge with the credit card company. I would recommend avoiding this company if any other options are available. I have approximately 5 hours invested in phone calls to NOT receive a system.

Sold me cameras that need to be plugged in to a outlet, Sold cameras to be used outside but there not outside cameras, then Sold me cases for cameras to use outside. If I run extension cords wouldn't a crook just unplug it ? Useless

I never got a word back from support in regards to getting a malfunctioning sensor replaced despite trouble shooting that the sensor is not working properly.
Answer the phone!!
Once I got thru to a person the experience was top notch. But as was the same with the last several calls the 35min + wait on hold was VERRY frustrating. Our time is important too. Simply safe needs to get more people or develop a better system , like calling back! This has been the same since day one .

You cannot schedule the locks to lock at say, 10:30pm. There is no SmartThings integration. The forum interface is so bad, it's unusable. Alexa will not lock just the doors for me - though I can do it from the App.
Unfair to customers
I could not use this product because I have hearing aids and take them out to sleep so I could not hear the alarm. It took maybe three hours to transfer my money to your company, but because fedex lost my return package, I need to jump through loops to get my money back. I have the tracking umber, you can see where the package has been and stopped so you know I returned it. You stated policy is 10 days before you will return my money. Why? Do you think the fairy package finder will show up.
The last straw…
The last straw is that I have been waiting 45 MINUTES!!!! To get the email to log into my account t. I have got all the other stupid emails but no not that one that I tried to get SEVEN FREAKING TIMES. Seroiusly I can’t even log into it at all. Not anywhere the app it online. Yay. What a way to start my Monday. Where can I sell this system at or will they buy it back? Worst purchase ever. Camera drags, does not catch ALOT of thing, can read license plates 8 feet away, looses videos, shows me videos with image (likely a still) just say the front door and you can hear people and keys and movement, doors open and closing but no freaking picture so that’s super sweet….. the list goes on and on. Keep on looking. I’m going to move past this company. The re tech support is great but not worth the stress and anxiety the lousy system provides.

Components are constantly failing and it is not easy to tell which one. You just get this loud voice saying, “Warning ! Some devices not responding!”

Tried To contact them five different times every time I was put on hold. Last time it was 30 minutes. Still has not got any response from any inquiries about my account. If they don’t have customer service they shouldn’t put 800 numbers on their website because they won’t answer and they put you on hold and you never get a reply
No answers for lack of rangedont believe the range
No answers for lack of range. I bought the unit to protect my house and garage 40 ft away but no connection with the base unit and simplisafe said my only option was a second unit and bill
System itself is just okay
System itself is just okay. The cameras are a joke tho. Poor resolution when they do work, but mostly they just disconnect from wifi and are basically useless. Got tired of constantly having to reconnect them. Very disappointed. Would not recommend this product.
Our smoke alarm went off
Our smoke alarm went off and I wasn’t quick enough to answer the SimpliSafe call. I was trying to stop the alarm as there was no smoke. The fire department was called and I tried to get SimpliSafe to cancel the call. The wait time was so long, I called our fire department myself to cancel.
Honestly
Honestly. The security system is great, but the cameras are horrid… they never pick up motion, they only work when they are plugged in (no battery backup) and they don’t have any outdoor type camera. Not to mention the night vision on them is terrible. I wish they would either allow 3rd party cameras or come out with outdoor cameras with their own battery and increased WiFi chips.
