Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. You can’t process returns online. If you call expect at least a 30 minute wait for a representative to answer. This is regarding their customer service side, it’s a shame because the system itself is super simple to install and very reliable.

Cancelled Simplisafe and went to ADT because ADT had some features that Simplisafe was missing. Then it took forever for Simplisafe to process my refund.

Your service sucks. Long wait times on calls, up to 40 minutes as announced by automated responses, agents who can’t answer simple questions, agents who hang up because they are frustrated, equipment that suddenly loses connection, etc, etc.

This is an easy system to install, but it the reasonable hardware prices are more of an old fashioned "loss leader" as the system is rather useless without subscribing to the monthly monitoring service.

Honestly, the cameras drop constantly. If you are using these to monitor a business you will have to refresh and reconnect the cameras ALL DAY. When they work, it’s great, but there is a lot of downtime and resetting the cameras or reloading the app/software. The price is cheap, but you get what you pay for… I like the service/protection. Hate the reliability of the hardware. I wish there was somehow a direct cable connection to the base. The wi-if is unreliable tech for now. 2 stars.
Meaningless Service
Alarm went off a bunch of times and got no check-in or confirmation from SS monitor service that everything was all right. Addon items were removed from my original order at checkout to meet sale price (glass break sensor). If you forget passphrase and cannot log into app there is no recourse without talking to their support and jumping thru hoops. The tech is ok, but service is a waste of time and overhyped.
Only Good With Monthly Monitoring
If you don’t pay for the monthly service, then you get no notifications for movement, unlocked doors, alarms. Essentially it’s a sound machine unless you can afford and want a monitoring service. Although, with monitoring many counties charge an annual fee and you get fines for false alarms.

We installed SimpliSafe last fall. The installation was not nearly as easy as depicted in the company's ads and we needed to make a few phone calls to help us complete the setup. The person we talked to was patient, knowledgeable, and respectful, so that deserves a plus.
We are extremely disappointed in the doorbell camera. Even after installing the WiFi booster, the doorbell camera is so slow that we do not receive sufficient warning when someone is approaching the door, when we activate the "watch live," and when we try to use the "speak" button. For practical purposes, the camera us useless to us. Would that it worked as efficiently and easily as the ad with Robbert in the tub shows.
On a positive side, we do make good use of the remote ability to access and manipulate the base station with "off," "home," and "away" settings.
Another negative is that trying to reach SimpliSafe by phone or even email is next to impossible. Follow-up Customer Service is non-existent.

Your phone service is really bad, takes a very long time to talk to a tech. Then the tech can provide the proper service. When I sent an email out, it took 3+ days to get an answer and that answer did not help.

Does not address all customer needs
I was trying to setup the system and I did not receive any useful information. I contacted customer care for the return and they said I could not return it as it was close to 60day. I have this sitting in my cupboard since 1 year now and have not used it. The recurring cost is what made me realize & rethink, the use of security system is not same for every customer. There could be a better pricing for this.

One star because I had canceled my plan/service without even installing or opening box and returned for a refund. This was all done cause I ended up staying with current alarm company. So after sending back the unopened simpli safe box it was over a month and counting waiting for refund I ended up disputing charges with my credit card company for refund to finally happen
No customer service
No customer service, took over a month to get one component. Just got attitude Everytime I called about it! They had no problem taking my money for that component when I ordered system, but didn't notify it would be delayed until order was put in and money collected.

Have so many problems with door sensors, they keep disconnecting, at the beginning they were very helpful, but now the customer service has decreased quite a bit!!!….so I am considering in changing brands

I ordered January 29, 2021. Smoke detectors on backorder, but quickly got email that they had been shipped.
Received first part of order February 10th (the control panel and door contacts). Then smokes were due to be delivered around the same time, but never did. They got stuck at the fedex facility (an hour away from me) for two weeks. Kept calling fedex to try and get help, but no help from fedex nitwits.
Tried to "re-order" from Simplisafe, but no real help from them either.
Since fedex is NOT COMPETENT enough to figure out where the package should have been going to, they sent back to Simplisafe.
At this point it was close to my "60 Day Warranty" time period and I had not installed system, wanted to do all of it at the same time, so sent back the part of the order that I had received.
I was too upset with the whole ordeal with fedex and the lack of good customer service from Simplisafe, that I did not try ordering another system.
This company may have good reviews from others, but because of the crappy ordeal with fedex, Simplisafe lost my business.
This isn't the first or last time that fedex screwed up an order for me.
I really don't know how fedex is still in business!!????!!!

Shipping time is decent I wouldn’t say rapid. As far as the equipment & service I’d say there’s definitely room for improvement. Cameras consistently lose connection even tho are less than 20 feet from wifi router, sensors are iffy at best if they work & consistent glitches every day. When it all works it’s a decent system for a good price but that seems pretty rare.

Suddenly I lost the configuration for the system and trying to set up and said it is being use for someone else. The system has a big latency and not all sensors are alerting me. For instance door or windows are not alerting. Just one door!!.
