The cameras are not clear as they should be and they are always dropping signal. The customer service is not always up to par if ever im able to reach someone which is out of 5 calls they may answer maybe once. The other 4 times I'll be on hold for 40+ minutes or until i hang up. There also have been times I've been hung up on. As far as alerts i can say they are very prompt with notifying

Sat on hold for a customer service representative to cancel my subscription for 30 minutes and I had to hang up. So I'm still paying for a subscription I don't use

SimpliSafe works great for an individual but not so good when we try to use it for our Family. It is very difficult to share access or to give other family members authority to access the information or to even save or move data within the program. We are now looking at moving to BitWarden to overcome these difficulties.

I found my self not using the system. Customer service was horrible when canceling. They were no help. No money was returned back.
Not happy with service
Not happy with service. Cameras stop working. Panic Sensors repeatedly have issues out of no where and then restore. Camera feeds consistently stop indicating they were interrupting. History gets cleared out and indicates no recording in last 30 days even though there were recordings.

I have tried to call customer service several times and have been put on hold for well over 20 oe 30 minutes. I need to return some purchases and have yet to be able to speak to them, I have left my name and phone number and still have not received a call.

There are multiple problems
(1) Indoor camera does not detect movement unless if one of the perimeter doors have been opened. The correct settings are in the app, but still the camera is subpar. The camera also keeps crashing. It has frequently occurred that when we try stream the camera from the app, it says it's disconnected or something went wrong. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
(2) The smart locks on the doors have been replaced multiple times in the past and still the home base keeps telling us that one or more particular doors are "not responding". We have called in multiple times (which is why we've received so many replacements), and still problems persist.
(3) The customer service agents all seem to be not very helpful. It always feels as though they are reading from a troubleshooting handbook that was created by a technical person but they are not technical themselves. Their solution to almost everything seems to be "I'll send you a replacement device". This requires me to install the device again and again and again.

I have a terrible time with the app not communicating with the base station and with my base station not communicating with dispatch. When .I attempt to call for assistance the hold times are so long that I can't stay on line.
Video Hardware/Software lacking
Although the service and alarm response time is great, the technology for video motion detection and quality is severely lacking. The ability to fully integrate video into the system is bashing when compared to Ring, Arlo and other competitors.
Didn't Receive Tech Support for Setting up SimpliSafe
I purchased SimpliSafe for my parents at Christmas. I've had challenges getting their system pieces set up. I've sent feedback ti SimpliSafe and never have heard back SO....we've been paying for their home security system that still isn't usable which is completing FRUSTRATING!!!

Since the sale of SimpliSafe to another company, the performance of the mobile APP has been very poor. The APP is very slow and often does not properly update to reflect the actual status of the Alarm system, which has caused us to have less confidence in the system overall.

Doorbell camera doesn’t work…
Doorbell camera doesn’t work consistently. Have replaced it, increased internet speed to 500 mbps and still issues. No answers from help desk.
Other than that easy to use and set up. Much less expensive and without contract compared to other services.
Can't Move Around Freely Inside the Home at Night
There needs to be a way to actively "Arm" your home while You 'stay' inside without the siren going off. Like during the daytime when I will be active inside the house, but won't exit an armed door or window.
Overnight I have to put the system on "Away" which arms everything, but now I can't move around freely inside or go to the kitchen or elsewhere unless I disarm the whole system. Otherwise, I trip the motion sensor and/or camera. Feels like being held hostage to your bedroom.
Self monitoring is fine; because there is no cost for this.
Incompetent company
Would give 0 stars if that was an option. System did not work properly. Refund process was horrible. Unsubscribing from emails is impossible. I have spoke with an agent to be removed from email list. I have unsubscribed through the website. I contacted the BBB when they started using my back up email for advertisement without permission. I thought this was finally behind me but over a year later without contact the emails have started again. Incompetent company with incompetent staff. Do not trust them to keep anything secure. I ended up going with ADT and everything has been running smooth. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

They won't cancel the service despite several requests. They keep charging $25 per month though I've tried to stop this with them multiple times. Edited...finally got it cancelled after waiting over an hour in the phone. They were much faster when they wanted payment. Would not recommend simplisafe at all.
Late delivery, late return, no money back (yet?)
I paid $37 for expedited shipping in 1-2 business days. The system did not arrive for over a week. I returned the system because I decided to go another route for security system. It took 3 weeks for them to receive it and told me they had no way of tracking it. Which I did not understand because they paid for return shipping label. They all of a sudden found the package after multiple calls over multiple days. Once they received it, I was told it will take 45 business days to receive my refund. That’s an inaceptable amount of time to have to deal with a quick purchase and return. The customer service was very unhelpful. I even asked for my $37 expedited delivery fee to be reimbursed, they simply just said “no” with no explanation. I would never order from them again. I’m over a week out after my package was received, and still have not seen a reimbursement to date.
