Window and door sensors keep falling…
Window and door sensors keep falling off, making it impossible to use. We have never been able to arm or use the system and Simplisafe won't send anyone to help us solve the problem. We are looking for a different, more reliable and better supported system.

Camera and sensor issues.
Cameras, although not cheap, are constantly disconnecting. WiFi in house is fine, but cameras will not stay connected. Also, out of 3 cameras purchased, 2 don’t work at all. Another problem is that the door/ window sensors do not stay attached. Constantly falling off. Ended up having to use super glue. Ended up canceling the monitoring due due the system reliability issues. I am now shopping for another system. I don’t recommend SimpliSafe.

Unreliable service
I was not alerted that someone (my mom) entered my house until after the alarm went off and the authorities were called. When I tried to call to cancel sending the authorities, I could not reach SimpliSafe. I was on hold forever and had to jump through hoops with an automated system. SS ended up calling my mom and she didn't know what to do. I found out about this phone call to her four hours after the incident because I was on vacation. Finally, I was able to get through to a person on your end, and found out that the request for the authorities to check out my house was still on, but they had not been sent. This sent "alarms" to me that what if it indeed was a burglar and nobody had been sent to my house four hours later? How would that help me? You need to be reachable as soon as an alarm goes off and be serious about sending help if the homeowner is unreachable. My husband never wanted this service, but it gave me peace of mind (falsely) when traveling. So, we spent the rest of the afternoon fighting about it, which ruined one day of vacation.

If something happens..
I live everything about our simplisafe system but when I had my door open and the alarm going off we never received a call or anything from the police which makes me nervous if we ever did have a home invasion.

I never could get the camera to work
I never could get the camera to work. Called & called, no response from anyone. I ordered a booster for our wi-fi & never opened it because that was not the problem. Still have a camera that doesn't work & paid for something I didn't need.

Was laughed at when my security system didn’t work, told it’s normal for cameras to not operate and have not been able to cancel

DONT BUY IF YOU WANT GOOD CAMERAS
SimpliSafe is a good all around system when it comes to window and door sensors, but the two star rating is for the cameras! I would not have purchased SimpliSafe if I knew the cameras weren’t going to be good. Kind of a big part of a security system if you ask me!

My system has accidentally gone off…
My system has accidentally gone off several times and I have never received a call from anyone. That make me wonder if I even have active monitoring that i am paying for. Door contacts randomly open and the system goes off in the middle of the night the contacts are almost touching. I cannot put the system in "home" and leave the house with my family still sleeping, using the key pad. I wish I had gotten my wired system repaired and skipped the SS purchase.

Can’t communicate thru doorbell camera. Tried two units and had tech try as well. Worthless.

SimpliSafe Continual False Fire Alarms and Other Malfunctions
I have been using a SimpliSafe system for many years. It has been consistently unreliable, with failed connections, errors generated by the various pieces of equipment, and worst of all, continual, CONTINUAL false alarms from the smoke detectors (which result in unwanted automated calls to the fire department). I have tried calling technical support various times, but they have been unable to find a solution to their issues.

You can't schedule the alarm to arm…
You can't schedule the alarm to arm itself. When my smoke alarm goes off, and this has happened more than once, I don't get a call about it. My subscription is supposed if the fire alarm goes off, I am to be contacted.

Where's the promised outdoor Security camera?
When I first signed up for Simplisafe I hesitated because there was no real outdoor video security camera. The indoor camera with a wrap to use outdoors does not have the necessary specs to do a good job outdoors. The promise of a "real" outdoor video camera has been promised for at least 2 years and still when someone asks about it the the answer is "we are working on it". Maybe it is time to stop working on it and partner with someone with a quality outdoor video camera. The only reason I didn't give it only one star is the video doorbell works well.

Had to return system because window…
Had to return system because window sensor would not fit. I opened the box and only removed one sensor, placed it back in the box and returned to company. Received my credit card bill and noticed I did not get full credit. I called customer service and after multiple attempts I was told a camera was missing. I never received any notification pertaining to the so called missing item, I ordered 2 cameras and 1 was promo and the other cost extra. You guessed it, I got charged for the one I paid extra for. I returned the product exactly as it was shipped to me. Some of the agents were nice but no one could make a decision. Poor customer service!

I had trouble connecting my camera to…
I had trouble connecting my camera to the internet. After 3 nonproductive calls to customer support, I was the one who figured out that Google was disabled on my phone so I could not download the app. It is my opinion that customer support should first ask the caller if Google is enabled on their smartphones.

Not as simple to install as they claim
Not as simple to install as they claim. Had two (2) sensors with bad batteries. Almost impossible to add cameras to the system. 3 emails and phone calls to Simplisafe with no replies. I bought new components and a refurb kit. Little quality control on the refurb components. Keep to the basics and avoid nice to have add ons.

Not great unless your wifi signal is consistently strong
The system is reasonably priced and easy to install but highly sensitive to fluctuations in Wifi strength. Every day we have sensors that “fail” even though we don’t lose wifi signals every day.

It took 3 attempts and customer service…
It took 3 attempts and customer service calls to get my system purchased. 5 months later, it still isn’t hooked up and working because of how difficult set up is. The app doesn’t help. Following instructions doesn’t work. Takes too much time to deal with customer service during business hours. Just wish I had a camera system that was user friendly and functional……SimpliSafe isn’t it!

Having been with Simplisafe for years
Having been with Simplisafe for years, I’ve seen this go from great customer service to lousy customer service!! The techs don’t know what they’re talking about, nobody follows through, you can’t get a supervisor and if they do they brush you off…bad bad bad! I was supposed to be getting an updated Base Station, they programmed it for the wrong house!! I bought a SimpliSafe lock, nobody told me to check keypads to see if they would handle the lock because the old ones don’t ,so now I’m waiting for weeks to get a simplisafe lock that works because they have to send new keypads… Horrible!

No issue with the support call but with your smart lock product
No issue with the support call. Issue is with your product. Your smart lock simply did not work; very intermittent control of lock; couldn't lock it consistently, couldn't unlock it consistently, did not know when lock was locked. Support sent me three different locks to troubleshoot; tried them on two different doors with two different locks. No go. And then, I was told it was out of warranty. But they never worked. They should send me a refund.
