Keep getting overcharged/ double-charged on service. Service itself is fine, but we may end up canceling the service as it's so frustrating to call every month.

Having to wait on hold for 35-45 mins every time for Customer service and tech support kills any good feelings I have towards this purchase. And then when someone picks up they tend to hang up if they don’t know the answer to the question. Nice product...HORRIBLE support. Would not recommend.

My keypad was not communicating with my base station. I called customer service at night and talked to a gentleman who had me check the batteries. But it still wasn't working.
The next morning I called the same # and talked to one lady who I couldn't understand her speech. She talked too fast and garbled.I waited a while and called again and talked to a person who talked so softly that with the background conversations, I was unable to hear her. I think she hung up on me.
The third time I called and talked to a woman who spoke English well and who was able to help me resolve my problem.
When I have called in the past I have received excellent, helpful people. I hope that SimpliSafe will place customer service as an important priority for their company.
Nothing special unless you pay the subscription fee
Honestly, if I could return this whole system for my money back I would. This is sold as a modern day tech replacement for old age alarm systems but in reality it’s nothing special — unless you pay the monthly fee. No mobile app access, Alexa integration, or other smart home capabilities unless you subscribe to their police alert subscription. So, I paid $500+ for hamstrung technology. The sensors and alarm base work fine which makes it serviceable, but I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
Customer service needs help
You are next to impossible to get a hold of if you have questions about the system. The lady I just spoke to barely even spoke clear English. The wait times are ridiculous no matter what time of day. The monitoring side is great. They do a good job but support is awful.
Nice people, poor product
Everyone I spoke with on the phone at Simplisafe was very polite nd professional. However, after more than three months, I still do not a received that is capable of inking to the dispatch center. The people are very nice, the product support does not follow through and the product does not work as advertised.

Honestly I have been quire underwhelmed by Simplisafe's phone customer service. This last time I was hung up one once (he was not wanting to deal with anyone) and then the next person I got was just put out to have to deal with me. I work in a call center, on a phone all shift. You can hear in people's voices when they either don't care, are already put out by something else, etc. I am not a techno genius but I do have significant tech knowledge as well as phone skills and neither of the people I spoke to last week had any phone skills. I love my Simplisafe service but ya'll could certainly do better in your people skills.

I like the concept but I bought 3 cameras and none of them are working. Very frustrating. I called and the tech said they were no longer under warranty. I have only had the system in since August. With out the cameras I feel vulnerable. The system is really intuitive. I am sure this is a simple fix but the tech that helped me wasn’t very helpful to get my cameras working. Otherwise the rest of the system is doing its job!!!

When I placed my initial order I was told that outdoor cameras were in the pipeline. All I have seen to date are camera "covers", which seem to get not so great reviews. And certainly not what I was looking for.
I pretty peaved because I was looking for an all in one system, home alarm & monitoring service, both indoor & outdoor. Which I can't achieve with this system.
I had also reached out for some cost savings assistance because I needed a large number of entry sensors, lots of windows. Instead it was suggested I use motion sensors. Given the amount of large windows, this is turning out to not work so well & we would feel much more secure with entry sensors on each window.
I have a lot of money invested in this with the thought more & better was to come.
I have yet to see that.

I received the items I ordered, but there was no tech available in all of East Tennessee to install it. It sat at my disabled dad’s house for over four months before I could travel down there to hook it up for him.
If I were buying this again, I would definitely find this out first.

Siren is not loud enough. It can't be heard outside at all. I live in a small house and I can barely hear it from the front door if I'm in the back bedroom.

1. The true purpose of having video is to perhaps have access to the video to share with law enforcement should the need arise.
As it was explained to me by a SimpliSafe rep, they cannot access nor can you access these videos if you enroll in their $15/mo plan. Video becomes magically available if you enroll at $25/mo. I find the lower pricing level disingenuous for this reason.
2. I used the 30 day free trial but wasn’t ready to sign in yet. At the end of the trial I notified SimpliSafe that I might sign on at a later date but not now. I then was “harassed” with monthly notifications that they tried to charge my account and it was now overdue.
This went on for four months in a row despite my calling them each time to explain that I had not activated a paid subscription. Each time they said “sorry, I’ll take care of that”, and never did.

away mode doesn’t work with motion and cat
Generally SimpliSafe works great, unfortunately it keeps detecting our cat (which is not that big) on our motion sensors on their lowest setting. So essentially we can’t use AWAY mode. Sucks.
