I live in an area impacted by the recent tornado. We have no power, but my SimpliSafe system is running on a generator. Also we have cell service despite not having WiFi. The system advertises cellular backup if WiFi goes down, but my system is saying there is no connection to 911 dispatch. I called customer service about this and she didn’t even know cellular backup was a thing you have...not a good look. I’m being sent some new computer chip to put in the base station, but it won’t get here for 3-5 business days and I’m here without a working system. So it’s not functioning as advertised.

No Op Manual or 2 step login
Poor review because of lack of detailed operator manual and reliance on user forum for answers to frequently asked questions. I have found much misinformation on the forums and time consuming to find answers. Also the lack of 2 step login option seems counter productive.

I love the idea of an alarm system that…
I love the idea of an alarm system that anyone can install... and one that isn't tied to 25 year old technology. That said, I am on my 3rd SimpliSafe installation, and not one has performed the way I had expected or hoped. They need to proactively dial in their quality before a "new kid" comes along with tech that actually works.

Several of the window attachments have fallen off and it’s only been six months. I feel a little safer with it but not what I should feel given the cost.

Simplisafe has been mostly junk
Simplisafe has been mostly junk. The motion detectors constantly pick up my cats so I had to set them on secret alert rather than to dispatch police. My camera now will not read the QR code on my phone; the camera is also a whole other issue where if the power goes out or it loses connection, you need to set the WHOLE thing up again in person. So if you're not home, it won't just come back online. I've kept the system because I hope that it will deter anyone who may want to break in, or that if someone tried, the window and door sensors would be sufficient. But overall I've had a headache of an experience. I truly don't like to leave negative reviews usually either. Maybe it's just my system because Simpli seems to have a lot of good reviews.

Received a broken unit
Received a broken unit, the unit was replaced and returned to SimpliSafe, however SimpliSafe never deactivated the unit and charged me twice for six months, once for the working unit and once for the unit they never disconnected. They were not able to provide a refund for the double charges.

The sensors do not stick
The sensors do not stick, and fall off the doors and windows to trip the alarm. My house flooded and the monitoring center never even called to check why my base and cameras were offline. I feel like I wasted almost 400.00.

Several months of Issues
After several months, I have finally gotten my system up and running. It now seems to be working well, and now seem to be mostly happy with it. But, I went thru several phone calls to SimpleSafe customer service with no service, no answers, no responses to emails and only the promises of a returned call to fix the issue but it never happened. I finally fixed the problem myself but was never offered a discount, nothing for my trouble or lack of service. Hopefully I am an isolated incident.

The fact that they don't offer 2 factor…
The fact that they don't offer 2 factor authentication on their website makes me very worried about their awareness of cyber security.

Several flaws, too many errors, very disappointed
Set up was pretty easy. However, one of my sensors often doesn’t register as closed despite the blue flashing light, a Camera often disconnects from my Wi-Fi and reconnecting the Wi-Fi is very cumbersome. Connecting the Wi-Fi in the first place is a pain when you can’t choose the network. This process could be much easier. The picture quality on the cameras not that great. The picture quality on the camera is not that great. Far too often, I get errors like the base station is busy or the system is updating, far too many failures and inconveniences with this product.

Perfect for those who want an expensive door chime with an alarm.
We purchased this system expecting it to be able to monitor open doors, windows, etc. but when we bought it there was no option on the app. We cancelled our service since its pretty much an expensive door chime at this point. I hope they decide to update their app/system soon. My previous security system allowed the chime to state which door was being opened at the moment and allowed me to monitor services that may stop by my house while I'm away from home.

The motion detectors did not work as…
The motion detectors did not work as advertised and we had five false alarms. Instead of offering to replace the sensors, the help-line suggested that I disable the motion sensors!!! You have to kidding me. I didn't pay for them not to use them. Customer service was horrible!

I have tried to contact you two…
I have tried to contact you two different time no one ever calls back. I have two systems and you are charging me for the wrong one my alarm went off the other morning .no one called ,and no one answered the phone when I tried t o call simplisafe. I used to be really happy with your company.I have had simplisafe for around 5 years .but this last year has not been a good one with your company

iphone app needs improvement
Security system is great. The app is down a lot and numerous difficulties logging onto the app with iphone. No other complaints than the iPhone app. Thx

2 defective fobs in a row
I like the system, but the primary fob stopped working within a couple of weeks. It took a month to get a replacement and it stopped working in 2 days. Not sure how much more I'm willing to deal with this.

I don't like your customer service. Plus I did not approved automatic payment for my service. I will change it eventually.

Alarm has become useless
There's no way to get extra stickers. I had to use scotch tape to re-hang a piece of alarm that fell off my window and now I'm worried it will come off again and trigger the alarm so I don't even use the alarm anymore.

It's nearly impossible to talk to…
It's nearly impossible to talk to anyone in costumer service, when we have a problem with the equipment. We usually receive phone notification the day after the camera detected movement. How is that going to help us, if we are not home and someone breaks into the house?

Am paying for monitoring but haven't once armed my system
I've had Simplisafe for several months now and haven't once armed it. Basically just a drain on my money. The adhesive didn't consistently stick to our walls other than one or two sensors. Can't trust the alarms that go off because of that. Also had very little info available on the smart locks + were back ordered during their black friday "sale"

Can't get cameras to work
Can't get cameras to work. Won't connect or stay connected. When I called for help there was a 60 minute wait. Gave up. Service after the sale, that dog won't hunt.

Got first system & the main unit did…
Got first system & the main unit did not function properly. Another unit was sent and could not get it to merge/connect with key pad. Still not functioning. Not a simple process as led to believe!!!
